Miss You Orchids

It's hotter than heck here in the Midwest - we've had a few heat advisories with temperatures around 100 degrees, but I confess I'm still loving the change of seasons. I love sitting outside in the summer, spending time in the garden and oh the flowers! It's just candy for my eyes!

I'm also loving all the flower dies available to crafters like me and I just can't get enough. These are the Waffle Flower Layered Orchids. The die set includes cuts for two size Orchids, leaves, stem and small bloom. The set is a good value too at $14.00

I layered mine over a foil background.. another thing I'm seeing ALOT of. This background is called Abstract Hearts. The gold is just YUMMY. I like that you can emboss with the dies too because the foil dies usually have thicker or solid images.

The Miss You sentiment is also gold foil from a three sentiment set called Hey There. It's got a coordinating die cut set so you can cut the sentiments after you foil them. I like to use matte gold or silver because it's still blingy, but not so mirror finish.

I adhered all the leaves flat to the card base and all the flowers are adhered with adhesive foam tape. I cut the orchids from colored cardstock and then added Distress Ink highlights.
