Fusion Card Challenge - Mermaid

I know you like to make cards or you probably wouldn't be here. Maybe you're looking for a break from your holiday cards and longing for something a little different? A new challenge begins today at Fusion Card Challenge and it's seriously a sweet escape!
Check out the photo inspiration this time! I'm loving that mermaid tail peeking out from blue waves of buttercream filling! Oooh!!!!! ... and the colorful sprinkles too! Addicted to sugar much? LOL!

Not loving the photo? That's ok.. you can work with the sketch!
This is what I made! I immediately thought of the Spellbinders Jane Davenport Mertail die set. I cut it from white card stock and then inked it in shades of blue distress ink. I inlayed the tail in a panel I inked with distress ink. I tucked some gold glitter paper under the Mertail so it shines through the die openings.
The waves were cut from white card stock and colored with Copic Markers. The shell is cut twice - once from white cardstock and once from gold foil. I attached the large shells at a slight over lap and inlayed the gold cut-aways in the white shell.
A good sprinkle of gems and pearls replicate the cupcake toppings and make sweet candy for the eyes.
Now it's your turn!
Are you ready to play? I wonder how you will interpret the photo! Maybe you need a little more inspiration? Check out designs from the rest of the team. Just click on their names below to jump to their blogs.
