WMSC #114 - Happily Ever After

Time for my favorite Saturday Morning ritual - sitting down to breakfast (if I'm lucky DH is at home and cooking!) booting up the computer, and checking who won the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.  Another busy weekend for me.  My son has a cross country meet, and my daughter is helping out handing out cold drinks at a charity 5K run.  Me?  I'm just the taxi driver :)  And I am definitely OK with that!!

This week is a fabulous sketch from Design Team Member Anya Schrier.  You might know her from her blog Life is What You Make It.  Anya has a very special place in my heart - she is one of the sweetest people in the world, and I am so proud to call her my friend.  I saw her sketch as the perfect opportunity to add lots and lots of embellishments.  Anya will no doubt amaze me and think of some way to make this design look clean and graphic!  I hope she doesn't think that I "junked this up" too much!!  My version of CAS just looks so naked to me - I can't help it!!!   Sorry Anya!!

I made an elegant layered Wedding Congratulations with lots and lots of mulberry roses.  Here's a few close ups so you can soak in all the extras.
Here's the finished card.  I fussy cut the sentiment following the shape of the swirly script.
I hope you have some time to play along this week.   What a fun design no mater what your style.  Don't forget there's always loads of inspiration from the Mischief Makers on the blog.   I can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge!

Hugs!
Jeanne

DYSU#88 Birthdays - Party Invitation

Friday is always a busy day for me.  My daughter usually has my car for school and work, and Fridays are usually free for her so I drag her along with me on errands.  We usually go grocery shopping together, or hit the craft stores.  Today I finally found the September issue of CARDS - so excited to see my name in print there for the very first time!!   Pinch me I'm still dreaming!!   After that I had to get to work baking - I made chocolate chip cookies for a picnic my daughter is going to tomorrow with her friends, some for my husband's card game tonight, and of course some to keep at home in my own cookie jar.  So it feels good to finally sit down and relax for a while.

Today I'm playing along at the DYSU Challenge Blog.  The challenge this week is Birthdays!  I know I could always use a birthday card, but how about some invitations?  I made these with Emma from Paper Sweeties special for my bloggie friend Marybeth who has her very own Emma at home - I hope she likes these and uses these invites as a good excuse to have some girl friends over for fun.
I finished off the inside with  stamps for all the party details.
I'll use any excuse for a party!  Thanks for having a look - have a great weekend!

Ribbon Reel #36 - Pink Cameo

OUR SHOPToday I'm playing along with the The Ribbon Reel Blog Challenge.  I have a good blog friend I met over at Waltzingmouse Stamps who is having a birthday coming up.  She doesn't want any fuss, so I made this one in time to pop in the mail to surprise her.  I don't think she will see this one unless you tell her so  Sssshhhhhhhhhh!  It's a secret.

Take a look at this inspiration photo.  I thought my friend would like the classic black and white and romantic look of this card considering she is a genteel Southern belle.  I don't know her favorite colors, only that she loves a vintage look and I know that big bow will bring a smile.   I know she loves Waltzingmouse, Papertrey, WPlus9, Simple Stories, and Memory Box.  OK do you know who this is for now?   In case you are wondering who I'm talking about I will give you a little hint... her initials are... RL.  Ok 'nuff said.  Here's the nitty gritty on the card... finally broke down and got a stamp a ma jig - this was so helpful in stamping the frame and the cameo - I highly recommend this to those others who are resisting.  I got mine at Joann's with a 40% off coupon.  I layered the doilies so that you just get that pop of pink - using lots of pop dots under the solid areas of the doilies - like under those gems.
Here are some close up eye candy shots so you can see the elements on the card better.
And here is the finished card.
I hope she likes it - it was a real pleasure to make for her and a special way I can show her that I'm so glad we met!
