Read This and Think of Me!

Today I'm playing at Cut it Up where it's all about THINGS WITH WINGS! and don't forget to use a die cut!

My card starts with that die cut background. First I cut the lighter aqua panel with the Waffle Flower Rhombus Texture die that I topped with several die cut Mistletoe Wreaths. I added some Dried Flower die cuts to the center of the rings as well as in open areas of the design. The edges that were overlapping or hanging off the card panel edges were trimmed off with scissors.

Next I cut the Open Book Trio Books from white and dark aqua cardstock. I stenciled the pages with butterflies and flowers and then stamped them with bitty sentiments.

Open Book Bookmarks coordinate perfectly with the tiny books, and yes there are other stencil sets so you can switch up the designs inside the books or stamp them with some other images you might already have.

My Creative Scrapbook May Main Kit

The papers in this kit are plaids, gingham, dots, and florals in rainbow colors of Red, Pink, Creamy Orange, Yellow, Green and Aqua. There's a pop of black in accents and sentiments that adds great contrast.

I had fun arranging the different elements. I usually group them together to fit a common theme - like the card above I wanted to look like butterflies in a meadow, and the card below with the fresh lemons and the pitcher of lemonade.

When I have my layout decided I'll try to go in and add a few more pieces like the floral on the banner and the cold pitcher.

Everything you see on my cards is included in the kit EXCEPT for the white cardstock card bases, solid cardstock cover matts, adhesives and enamel dots. Things that you already probably have in your stash right now.

Candy Cane Seasons Greetings

I hope you're having a great day! Today I'm sharing a beautiful holiday card made with the Pretty Little Studio Candy Cane Collection!

This card starts with a patterned paper background that I topped with a floral arrangement. To create a focal point I layered light grid pattern paper over a piece of darker dotted paper. To help with placement I lay all the images on a piece of clear plastic the size of the card base.

Some of the images are adhered with adhesive foam tape, like the big red flower so I could tuck other elements underneath.

Some holiday elements are mixed in with the florals - a candy cane, string of beads and an ornament.

The finishing touch is always a sprinkle of gems for some sparkle and shine! I hope you're smiling!
