Planting Smiles

Today I'm playing along at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge where this is the inspiration cupcake for this month!

We're In the Garden!! For those of you who might not know me I am definitely a gardener! When I'm not making in my craft room you'll find me outside (weather permitting and sometimes not!) in the garden!

Waffle Flower Crafts recently had an amazing release of everything garden so I had lots to play with! This is the Garden Backdrop wheelbarrow and fence. The Tomatoes are from Pots and Plants die set that includes violets and tomatoes. You can put the tomatoes vertical for Roma's and horizontal for some Celebrity or Early Girls!

I cut a simple Wavy Border background for a wavy grass background and added some blue cardstock for the sky.

The sentiment is from Green Thumb Sentiments that has lots of garden appropriate sentiments and of course a matching die set.

My Creative Scrapbook August Main kit

I love that the kits are selected with the time of year in mind so that your favorite holidays and past times are covered. This month the theme is summer appropriate with a travel theme. Lots of us travel this time of year when the kids are out of school, and the kit is ideal for not just cards, but for documenting memories.

The fresh mix of pastels and bold jewel tones is really eye catching and appealing. The different elements include roadmaps, restaurant receipts, license plates, bottle caps, graph paper and everything road trip related.

They've even thought of different destinations - like desert and wilderness campgrounds for some of the elements. You'll find different stop off elements as well - snacks from the gas station, or diner.

There are plenty of sentiments to choose from including stickers, and some of the die cuts. I tried to incorporate as many of the images as I could, but I left a whole bunch behind! I'm saving those for other projects.

My favorite 12" page from Simple Stories is always the Journal Elements sheet. It has several different cut apart journaling cards perfect for creating focal points for your designs.

Another repeating element in this kit is the butterflies - you'll find them in the papers, die cuts, stickers, and more. And there are lots of arrows to keep you pointed in the right direction!

Pop Up Veggie Basket! & Giveaway

They have an awesome collection of pop up dies in their shop that make creating special fold/interactive cards as easy as 1., 2., 3.!

Just die cut the frame and then cut out the accent pieces in your choice. SO as an example here I've cut out the light brown basket and green insert pieces and then cut the fruit and leaves that are glued over the larger pieces.

There's still ways you can make it your own like adding your own special sentiment and selecting the cardstock colors of your choice. I also added a little sprig of tomatoes to the front of my card.

The best part ever is that this card folds completely FLAT and fits in an A2 size envelope!
