Smile! Flowers for You!

35_Apr2016
I was enchanted with the concept of Nancy Penir's tag at Tag You're It Challenge from the moment I saw it!  I loved how she added vellum to the open sections of the umbrella so you could see the flowers and foliage peeking through the design.  I was hoping for lightning to strike twice.  I knew I wanted to do something similar - I never like to completely CASE a design.  So I went searching through all my dies... what could I find that had an open design that I could fill up with something?  When I saw the basket from Reverse Confetti I thought.. hmmm.. maybe I could fill it with apples or cherries... same concept as Nancy but still different.  I couldn't find any bitty fruit stamps so I filled my basket with flowers instead.  Since I had all my Reverse Confetti goodies dug out I thought I'd incorporate the design for the Monthly Sketch For you to Try at RC
The basket die was easy to work with for this concept.  It has a solid background die that I cut the vellum from.  TO keep it clean I added Ranger Multi Medium Matt adhesive very thinly behind the lines on the basket die.
I kept mostly with Nancy's design - even adding some dewdrops from Pretty Pink Posh.  They come in two sizes and are a steal at $3 a bag.
The basket is layered on a tag - also from RC called Tag Me Too!   Because I cut the tag from pattern paper it seemed a little flimsy so I cut a second tag from card stock.  Once they were stacked together the tag was beefy enough to wrap some twine around.  I used  Twinery Mandarin twine wrapped around three times and finished with a bow.

To keep with the sketch I added a larger bloom at the bottom of the basket and the clear droplets for the accents on the sketch.  I didn't have room for a big sentiment so I thought a little tag round the handle of the basket would be cute.  The "smile" sentiment is from Later Alligator.
This side view shows how I used adhesive foam tape to prop things up and add dimension.
If you love the clear vellum peek on the basket tag and want to give it a go - you have a week left to play at Tag You're It Challenge.  If you are playing at Reverse Confetti's Sketch For You To Try - you have until the end of the month!
