Serendipity Blog Hop - 4th of July!

Welcome to the bi monthly Serendipity Blog Hop Challenge.  For this challenge we were asked to create something for the 4th of July and to ADD GLITTER!   I know sometimes glitter can be so messy, but what a great excuse to sprinkle some magic around!  It reminds me of the last sparkle of fireworks in the night sky on a perfect summer evening.
I decided to do something different for this challenge.  I found this star shaped wood frame at Joann Fabrics and decided to make it into a patriotic welcome for my front door.   It was really affordable with the 40% off coupon - I paid around $10.   I painted the wood with gesso to prep it for a coat of white acrylic.  I lined the inside of the frame with some Authentique paper and some die cuts.  I double stamped the flag image and colored them with Copics.  I oval die cut the first flag image to place inside the star frame, and then fussy cut the second to layer over the first.  I used glittery emboss powder for the red stars.
The bow is actually three layers.  The first is a satin 1 1/2" wired Navy, topped with a 7/8" satin red, then a red and white twine topped with a glittery red star.
The stars are from a Serendipity set of four that are "for the holidays" - but I think they work any time of year.  Their designs are so intricate and detailed they add so much elegance!   Here is a photo of the finished project - ready to hang.
Thanks for having a look.  I hope you will stop by the other design team members pages and see what they came up with.  Simply click on their names listed below alphabetically to jump to their blog.  Thanks for having a look and have a beautiful day!

July 4 is still a month away - plenty of time to come up with some fantastic creations to add to your fesivities.
