Fusion Front Porch

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! A new challenge begins today at Fusion Card Challenge! It's a great place to play and you'll love this challenge because there are three ways to play.. you can play along with the sketch, be inspired by the photo, or FUSE them together and play with BOTH!

I'm typically drawn to the inspiration photo.. the inspiration photo this time is called Front Porch. I spy a comfy bench and shades of grey, brown, blue and green. If you're not loving the photo, don't forget.. there are other ways to play along!

I've been purchasing the Open House series from Spellbinders but never actually got down to making anything with them. The series has ways to dress up the door for different holidays including Spring/Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving/Fall, and Christmas. I love the versatility of the set because you can add the side windows, a porch or just a matt outside the front door. Time to scrap my stash!!

I started with a pale yellow background that I scored lines in every 1/4" to look like siding. From there it was lots of cutting and assembling. There was a bit of a learning curve.. to glue the tree trunks inside the pot or behind it, add the door panels or not.. what color are windows anyway? LOL!

In the end I'm happy with how it all came together. I added the Topiary trees out side the door as a nod to the greenery on the Front Porch inspiration photo. I hope you like it too!
