The beginning of the summer season for me always kicks off with Memorial Day. It’s the weekend folks here in the Midwest open their pools and celebrate graduations because school’s out and summer is in!
Living in a small town in Indiana our patriotism runs strong. You’ll find American flags hanging from street lights and on front porches. There will be home town celebrations and parades and don’t forget the fireworks!
I only used the 12” America The Beautiful Collection Kit and a pack of enamel dots from the Vintage Seas collection to make these six cards. I always start by cutting apart the 3x4” journaling cards apart. Next I cut the remaining papers into 6x6” square. This makes for a more manageable stack of papers and I can flip half and see front and back.

I remove the stickers from the 12” sheet included in the kit and apply baby powder to their sticky side. This allows me to arrange the images before committing and adhering them in place.
Journaling cards make great focal points. By adding a few stickers and adhering them with adhesive foam tape adds dimension and gives your cards a fussy look.
Celebrate the USA and your summer events with the Simple Stories patriotic America the Beautiful Collection.
