CASE Study 141 - Quilted Mom

First I wanted to share some happy news.  Our fearless leader Iwona, A.K.A. Chupa from Random Acts of Creativity and creator of CASE Study is a new mom of baby Julia - I hope you will visit her blog and share a little love - she's got lots of great pics of her and baby there! Now back to business... Are you loving Case Study this month or what? Our muse this month is Maile Belles from Simply Stamped! Pure clean and simple goodness here folks so no excuses!

Check out the inspiration photo! Just work with what inspires you - could be the pattern, the colors, maybe its the hearts. Just make something inspired by the photo and link it up over at the Case Study Challenge.  I was immediately attracted to the repeating pattern and that's the way I went. I grabbed a quilt pattern - got stamping!  I hand fun playing with colors and stamping each little section of the quilt.  I tried to pick up some of the colors from the inspiration photo including the pop of turquoise that I got with the pin.  Hopefully you can see how the original photo inspired me to come up with this.  The same ... yet... different.  Right?

Hop on over to the rest of the CASE design team sites to get even more inspired.

Paper Sweeties May Release Day 3

It's day 3 of the Paper Sweeties May Release. That means the new stamps are officially in the Paper Sweeties Store for sale!  Today I'm showing you the "Sending Springtime" set.  This set features a birdhouse and bird along with sweet sentiments about home like the one I used on my card.  One of the things I love about spring is that I can hear the birds singing in the morning again as they usher in a brand new day.  I have a little bird house in the back yard and always keep an eye on it in the spring looking to see who will make a home of it!  So far no takers, but this cute little bird keeps me hopeful!
Even though I adhered the bird and house with adhesive foam dots, this one still looked a little flat to me.  I thought the buttons with pearl toppers added the right amount of dimension and bling to this one.

Check out what the rest of the design team made with the new releases.   Just click on their names below!

Tomorrow we'll be wrapping up the new releases with a mix of the old sets and the new sets!  I hope you'll stop by for a visit!  Have a beautiful day!

Paper Sweeties May Release Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Paper Sweeties May Release! For the next few days the Design Team will be featuring projects made with the new releases to give you a peek at the goodies that will hit the Paper Sweeties store on the 15th. Today I am showing you projects made with the new "You are the Most Wonderful" and "Fun Shapes" sets.  "You are the Most Wonderful" features a fancy font to honor family members and friends and the "Fun Shapes" is exactly that - pennants, banner, heart, star, hexagon, circle and more all filled with fun patterns like polka dots, grid, and zig zag.   On my first card I used the "Mother" sentiment and some of the pennants from Fun Shapes.

I stamped the pennants in colored ink on colored paper and fussy cut them.  I topped them with pretty buttons and a flower for my fancy card for mom.  For my second project I thought I'd go a little more clean and simple to show off the versatility of the set.  This one is for the guys.

With the help of my handy Stamp a Ma Jig I evenly stamped the "Husband" sentiment in green, blue and orange and topped it with a fun little button.

Thanks for stopping by - I'll have more new releases to show you tomorrow!
