Happy Mother's Day!

Today I want to wish all the Mom's, Grandma's, Aunts, Sister's and Godmother's a Happy Mother's Day! I know I wouldn't be who I am today without the care and guidance mine have brought me throughout my lifetime!

I made this pretty for my Mom! She loves pink and girly things, and more always means more so I piled on lots of flowers.

My card starts with a Swirly embossed background that I topped with the Pink & Main Happy Mother's Day die cut that I cut and stacked four layers high.

Next I piled on the flowers from the Floral Banners set because they were just the right size and there are a large variety of shapes in the set. I added yellow adhesive gems to add a little bling because I know Mom is going to like that too!

Waffle Flower April Release Sneak Peek Day 1

Hi friends! I'm excited to start the beginning of a three day event - sneak peaks of the Waffle Flower release that will be available on March 5. This release is called "Full Bloom", and we are excited to share some new creative flower sets and unique sentiments with you!

I'm smitten with the new Painted Flowers Background. The die cuts the detailed background plate and you ink it with the coordinating stencil set. I used Distress Ink to color my flowers in shades of pink and orange.

I thought these bright florals would be stunning against a chartreuse background that I cut with the Sweet Plaid die from the previous release. The textured background adds detail to the design.

The Mother's Day Word die is a two pieces set - a background die with an accompanying detailed word die. I know my Mom is going to love this bright beautiful card!

Intertwined Bears Gatefold Card

This week just flew by! I've been doing all my annual check ups so lots of running around for me.. and yes a few more visits ahead so I appreciate "my time".. the quiet moments in the day when I get a chance to make!

Today I'm sharing an interactive gatefold card made with Waffle Flower Intertwined Bear Hugs. I added a birthday sentiment to my card but I think it's perfect for Mother's Day.

The die set includes the two bears that attach to a flat card base. The set includes lots of smaller die "accessories" including the flowers, hearts, butterflies and bows.

To add a little dimension to the design I added some Distress Ink shading to the die cut pieces.

Here's a peek at the inside that is very simple. I wanted a small sentiment to "hide" behind the die cut bears on the cover.

Today I'm playing along at As you Like It Challenge where this time they want you to add a special fold to your design and explain why it's your favorite fold. My choice is always Gatefold. I really like that it looks fussy but is very simple. I also appreciate that this style card can stand up easily on its own.

Flowers For Mom

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my MOM! Mother's Day sort of crept up on me this year.. I didn't realize it was this weekend until I was at the post office yesterday and the postal worker who handled my transaction wished me a "Happy Mother's Day"! I appreciated the reminder because there was still time to make a pretty card for my Mom!

I reached for some older favorites from my stash - The Pretty Pink Posh MOM and Mother's Day stamp sets. I replaced the "O" in "MOM" with a pretty vase of florals.

The background is blended Distress Oxide in Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry. To keep it fresh I used a NEW stencil - the Floral Background with some Gina K. Iridescent Glitter Gel. My gel was a little dried out but I found out that you can mix in some Hand Sanitizer to loosen it up.

I scattered some butterflies and some Flamingo Pink Jewels to add some color and shine. I know my Mom is going to love all the sparkle on this card.
