Feeling like a challenge today? I've got a great one for you! Fusion Card Challenge is my favorite place to play! Here's why.. every challenge you get a SKETCH and an INSPIRATION PHOTO to work with. You can work with one or the other.. and if you're feeling clever you can fuse them both together.
I think this sort of challenge takes lots of the guesswork out of what to make when you're drawing a blank (sorry but the winter blahs sort of do that to me once in a while).

So what do you see? I'm seeing a beautiful floral heart on a rich red background... in fact the photo and the sketch have a few things in common.. especially that background of the layered squares right?
I zoomed in on those beautiful intertwined floral hearts on the inspiration photo. So I went digging for the prettiest floral heart I could find.. and this one from Neat and Tangled was the winner!
I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copic Markers. The coordinating die set is neat because you can die cut just the outside of the heart (leaving the inside solid for a sentiment like I did), or you can also die cut the inside of the heart to make a frame.
I chose a layered yellow background (instead of the rich red in the photo) because I wanted a color that matched some of the flowers on the heart. I confess I'm a "brights" person so the cheery yellow seemed perfect!
Twine is one of my favorite accents for a card. It's not heavy so it really doesn't add any bulk to your card when you mail it.... the bow lays flat.. and it adds lots of color to a design.
The finishing touch was a few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh! I love that they match EVERYTHING .. and they come in three different sizes too!
Now it's your turn! Ready to play? No? Need a little more inpiration? Check out more projects from the Fusion Design Team.
