SSCB#46 - Anything Goes
Veggie Basket

I hope you're having a great day!  It's starting to feel like fall lately. With DH working nights we're spending time together in the mornings again.   Today we went to the local nursery.  I don't know if you remember me telling you that the town accidentally cut down our 10 year old cherry tree last fall?

A really sad thing for me because my dad has been coming over for the past 5 years or so to pick them.  He and my mom make pies and jam.  I can picture all of us out front filling up a big bucket.

In the Spring we planted three new ones - and two of them didn't make it through the summer.   This time of year you can find lots of plants on sale so we thought we'd see what we could find.   I loaded up the car with one cherry tree, three blueberry bushes, and a hydrangea.  Everything was half price!  I hope they decide they like living here and flourish! Fingers crossed - and let it rain!!! LOL

So you probably know that I'm a gardener too!  This is the time of year everything is ready to pick... lots of tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and so much more!!   This veggie basket sort of says it all!  It's also the 50% off stamp of the month for August at Serendipity!

We're at the half way point of the challenge.  We've switched up the dates a bit lately.. maybe you've noticed. The first Friday of the month we show new releases.  The second Wednesday of the month a new challenge starts and the Fourth Wednesday of the month is the half way point.   So yes we are at the half way point!  You have 2 weeks left to join us!!
The stitched scallop border is from Pretty Pink Posh and available at Serendipity.  The wood sequins are from Serendipity and don't you think that smile word die is too cute smiling back at you?  I thought it would be fun to layer it over the scallop circle so they look like teeth!   Is that just silly or what?
I hope you'll join us at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog - Remember it's anything goes - so sky's the limit!

I love this card! My garden is full too - I never thought it would get that way with all the rain this summer - but it's coming on now. Love that big red Smile curving around the basket - you're so good and highlighting the features of dies and stamps. I'll take some cherries when they get going!

I was thinking of you yesterday when we spent the morning in the garden. I'm so impressed that you can do all your wonderful crafty projects and still keep the garden in shape. You are amazing! Love this beautifully colored card. The 'smile' is such fun!

How pretty, Jeanne! Love the bright colors & papers! So sorry about your tree...I would be soooo upset if that happened. How do you accidentally cut down a tree, lol? We have probably 50 trees in our yard but I almost cried when lightning struck the only tulip poplar in the yard & it had to be cut down.It was humongous! But we did plant a cherry tree in its place.

Your poor cherry tree! I can't even imagine how upset you were! *Accidentally*? Yikes! All that beauty lost, not to mention the pies and jams. Great to hear that you found some fabulous deals on new trees; hopefully, they'll find your nurturing touch to be exactly what they need to grow strong and flourish. I didn't realize you were a gardener; you are so incredibly talented! I had a garden, years ago, and oh, how I miss it. Perhaps I'll have one again...some day. Your card featuring the riches of a garden harvest definitely makes me smile. Another delight!
