Tuesday Throwdown - Cream in My Coffee

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  I hope you are having a great day!  DH is back to working days, but I am enjoying this week with my son who has the week off before it's "back to school"!   He's 19 so in lots of ways we are in two different worlds.  We're meeting in the middle - hitting the shows and going out for lunch.   I'm glad he's not afraid to be seen about with his mom!

Today we were heading out to lunch when we saw this little turtle trying to cross the road.  I did a quick U turn and he jumped out to capture him.  We deposited him near the pond on the other side of the road (maybe that's where he was headed?) so he's safe and sound.  Looks like a baby snapper!  Where is Turtle Man when you need him?  I think we did him proud at least! LOL!!

Today I'm playing along at Tuesday Throwdown!  The challenge this time is to add texture!  I'm playing along with the Waltzingmouse Coffee Time stamp and die set.  The set has lots of cute little cups and accessories as clever sentiments to match perfectly!   The dies are open window cuts making them easy to place over your stamped images and get the perfect cut every time.
My favorite way to add texture to a design is with adhesive foam tape.  I love how the popped up images add so much dimension!
The other thing I don't think I could ever do without is my Twinery Twine!  I love the color and how adding just a little bit seems to tie everything together.  It keeps images from having that "floating" look to them.
I used a punch to cut the scallop border and stamped little flowers on each of the scallops.
I hope you have a little time to play this week!

This card oozes home and coziness Jeanne!! It instantly brought my grandmother to mind. Our son took me on a mother son date to the movie a time or two when he was that age. So special!!

Oh my...you are the Queen of Patterned Paper combining, my friend! These are absolutely lovely; a combination enhances the impact of your sweet coffee-themed images! I want a real set of those mugs in my kitchen; it's all about that single flower! Love it! Time with your son: sounds like you're having fun! And the baby snapper turtle? Oh my goodness! So glad you noticed him and that your son ferried him to safety off the highway. I've never seen a snapper turtle in real life, so the photo of this little dude has me smiling! He is a cutie!
Hugs~c

Every time you use this WM set, the coffeepot is a different color, and I love it! Must bring that set out and play. Gorgeous colors and layers, and those scallops are adorable!
Think I would have brought Mr. Turtle home and built him his own pond. Maybe next time...
