It's time for a new challenge at Fusion! I'm seriously addicted to this one and am so happy to be on their design team. I love the concept. They provide an inspiration photo and a sketch. It's entirely up to you which one to work with. And if you're feeling especially creative you can work with both! It's a two week challenge so there's plenty of time to play!
What a great color combination! The gold and black are just so striking next to each other. I was inspired by the pretty flowers in the photo and tried to stay true to the sketch as best I could. I had a few limitations with the size of my flowers, but if you look close you'll see they're matted on an oval. I kept the pennants off because I felt the stems were a good substitute. I must admit I've never stamped a black flower before, but look at this. Doesn't it look amazing? I'm so glad I gave it a try! I hope you will too!
If you look close you can see I added a few enamel dots. I saw a tutorial on You Tube showing how to make your own using Perler beads. Have you tried this? I picked up a tub of assorted colors for about $10 (using my coupon at Michaels). I had some older ones from when my kids were younger - they didn't melt right so you need to use a fresh batch. Maybe the formula changed? Yes it did smell up the house, (a friend suggested using a toaster oven that I can plug in outside - I need to try that) It's nice to have so many colors to pick from and they cost me less than a penny each to melt.
Need a little more inspiration? Here's a list of the rest of the design team with projects for today!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Wow, Jeanne, this is so striking and gorgeous ... the combination of yellow and black blooms in your bouquet is just stunning! Anita :)
The background paper is brilliant here, it really makes the florals pop! WOW!
Jeanne this is so beautiful!
Love the stems in place of the banners Jeanne...very creative and now I guess I need to be making my own enamel dots! LOL. My family is used to things not smelling very good coming from our oven so I bet they don't even notice! They might just ask what is cooking for dinner...LOL!
Jeanne your roses are stunning!!
Cheers

Your card is so elegant! I love it. Also thanks for the tip on the perler beads being smelly. I have been considering making my own too :)

Gorgeous card Jeanne. I love those yellow and black blooms.
A gorgeous card indeed Jeanne! Love it!
STUNNING color combo Jeanne~love this!
Yes - the black blooms look super Jeanne! who knew!! love your bouquet! I found a Perler bead tutorial on someones blog and made them around Easter time - I didn't get any smell from them and they melted wonderfully?! I particularly love the beads that have lines in them (two colors) - they melt into a pinwheel or blossom design!
Lovely, SUNNY and beautifully bright!!!! Gorgeous!
Jeanne...this is so beautiful! I love your sweet flowers and in black too, just so stunning. Hope you are having a wonderful Mother's Day my friend.
Loving the black flower with the yellow ones. Such a neat combination for fresh cut flowers like this. You are perfect for this fun design team and so many friends on the same team.
Love this Jeanne.
