Case Study #76 - Pink Bloom

It's Superbowl Sunday!! I've got sausage and mostaccioli in the oven so I'm taking a breather to post a card I've been working on for Case Study. If you know me, then you know for me it's all about the details! I'm envious of those of you who can pull off the CAS look because for me it never looks like it's quite finished when I try.

This month CASE Study brings us designs from muse Karola Kraftuje. I was delighted when I saw her design this week because it's right up my alley! I love all the layers and the details on this one. I followed her example but changed it up a little bit. I made my card in pink and added a sprinkling of gems.

I made the rose with Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One die cut three times. I shaded the edges in Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Spun Sugar. The smaller flower is the same die cut once and distressed in Tattered Rose. The bird is from Spellbinders Bird Sanctuary. I cut my own wing and zig zag folded it like Karola did.

Here are a few close ups - the flower, and the butterflies and bird with the gems added.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look - I really had fun making this one. I hope you will give it a try.

Supplies Used: Finished Size 5" x 7"
Paper: K&Co. Cut N'Paste Collection

Dies: Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One, Bird Sanctuary
Martha Stewart Punch Butterfly
Ink: Momento Rose Bud, Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Antique Linen, Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose

OMG, look at all the details on this one. First, that flower is gorgeous! It looks like you inked up the edges on it, so pretty. Those butterflies are so pretty and the way you folded that birds wing...no words to describe it. That queen bee set with the crown and little sparklies just jumps out and screams "Carly", she would love this card, I have to pin this and remember it. I have a bee and a crown stamp to use too!

While you are envious of CAS, I am envious of being able to pull of such Shabby Chic-this is SO chic! The soft pink color scheme here is absolutely perfect in combination with the exquisite bird and butterflies. Then there is the flower...I could go on and on. Congrats on being in the Top Three!
