Reverse Confetti / Misti Spring Fling Blog Hop!

Thanks for stopping by! It's a great day for a visit! The Reverse Confetti Crew is hopping with the My Sweet Petunia design team today! My Sweet Petunia is the creator of the Misti - the most incredible stamping tool ever. If you're hopping along you should have reached me from Judy Rozema's blog. If you'd like to start at the beginning and get all the details you can find them here at Reverse Confetti's blog.
When the Misti was first released I wasn't quick to respond. I didn't see it the way I do today. I thought it was for "multiple stamping" - meaning it was mostly useful to people who make multiples of the same card. I am a prolific card maker and hardly ever make two of the same design.

Once I got the Misti stamping tool in my hands I learned to appreciate it - and many ways to use it. A day NEVER goes by when I'm not using my Misti stamping too. The hop today is going to show you loads of different ways that the Misti will make the stamping process easier - helping you eliminate mistakes that are common using ink and clear blocks.

I used to hate solid image stamps - like the paint swatches that make up the background of this card. I hated the blotchy look from the uneven inking on solids. Using the Misti tool I can ink the same image several times, stamping it in the same exact position adding layers of ink until I'm happy and have a clean crisp image with no little white spots.

I never used to do repeat patterns either - I would marvel at other crafters who could line up images perfectly. Today that's a snap. The grid paper, and rulers help me line up images like a pro!   So no more hiding your solid stamps and worrying about lining things up perfectly!
I stamped a row of paint swipes from the Reverse Confetti COLOR ME HAPPY. I stamped in shades of Reverse Confetti Ink (PIGGY BANK, PEACH, BUMBLEBEE, PARAKEET, and ICED AQUA). After stamping all those colorful swatches I didn't want to mess up the sentiment. Again I used my Misti stamp tool so it was lined up perfectly and it stamped evenly.
The colorful swatches make a beautiful background for the HIPPITY HOPPITY Bunnies that I left uncolored.

The next stop on this hop is Susan Wymer. But before you go, make sure you leave me a comment. There's some candy up for grabs and you can't win if you don't comment. Two lucky commenters from the hop to win one of two prizes: a $60 shopping spree at www.mysweetpetunia.com and a $60 shopping spree at www.reverseconfetti.com  You must leave their comments no later than Sunday, March 25th, at 11:59 PM Central time and winners will be announced on Tuesday March 27th, on the Reverse Confetti and My Sweet Petunia blogs.

Here's a complete list of all the designers with projects to share today...

Love that you used the "swipes" as your color focal point and then left the bunnies white. Hippity Hoppity is one of my favorite sets for creating Easter cards; thanks for the inspiration.

The bunnies are so cute! I love that you left them uncolored, but stamped strips of colors behind them for the background. It gives a nice balance to your card.

I absolutely love love love this card. The cute bunnies, the bright happy ( well spaced, well stamped) ink sweeps and just how much this card made me smile. After doing this blog I am realising that although I'm still very much at the starting point, so many of the mistakes I have would be fixable with a Misti, I fully understand your first paragraph now, thank you x

Fabulous card!! I love how you used the paint swatches stamp to make a colorful background and then left the bunnies uncolored. Coloring is not easy for me and I'm always trying to think of ways to make cards that please me without having to color the images. I love this one!!!

I love the look of black and white critters over watercolor stripes (whether "real" watercolor or stamped). I really need to remember that for my next cards! And I completely agree: solid stamping was a nightmare before stamp positioners, and I only tried it for three months! I'm so glad I started stamping in the MISTI era.
