Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you are doing something fun with someone you love today! I thought I'd sneak in just one more Valentine project!
Are you playing the latest challenge at Tag You're It? You better hurry if you plan on making it a Valentine themed tag like the sample from our lovely design team member Jen Mitchel! You've got only a few days left to play.. and NOPE you don't have to make a Valentine or love themed tag. You can follow the layout or play with the colors - just work with what inspires YOU!
There's lots to love here.. iridescent embossed stencil background, die cuts and pretty color combo! Of course you know I have to switch things up a bit. I'm also learning to get used to working with what I have. I just did a major clean up here and I'm enjoying the extra room.
I didn't have this pretty layered tag that Jen used so to recreate the look I used a solid tag - my go to - Poppystamps Main Street Layered Tags. I trimmed a smaller square of light pink card stock and used a corner rounder to create the look of the smaller panel.
I didn't have a heart stencil either.... so I was going to make one from a die cut heart. I decided on doing a "faux" stencil by adhering a lacy heart die cut from Cheery Lynn to the light pink cardstock panel.
I hunted for another smaller heart die cut that wouldn't cover up the lacey one in the background and thought this Mini Scroll Heart was just the thing! I cut it from gold foil paper, and inlaid hot ink card stock in the openings.
All that was left was some pretty trims.. you can't go wrong with some Twinery Pink Sorbet Twine, Ribbon and Gold Enamel Dots!
Now it's your turn! I hope you'll join us at Tag You're It!
