TYIC#4 - Yellow Poppies

How is everyone doing today? Boy it's a scorcher here! It's supposed to get up to 83 F (not so bad right?)  but the humidity just makes it so uncomfortable. Just when I thought Fall was on it's way!! LOL!! Welcome to weather in Chicago! You just never know what to expect! Since the dog doesn't want to be out any longer than she needs to I got some crafting done between loads of laundry. 

I'm playing along at the Tag You're It! Challenge. I've been really loving this one. Who doesn't love a cute little tag? It's a nice switch from a card and I'll be honest, I really don't have all that many tags. I love adding them to little treats - like a bag of home made cookies or carmel corn. Once it cools off I'll be back in baking mode and these sweet tags will sure come in handy.

Check out the inspiration tag from Marion Vagg this time.  So how did this translate into my tag?   I picked up on the pretty poppies, the "Hello" sentiment, and the inlaid dies.   I switched it up a little by cutting my poppy die, inlaying the pieces, and then cutting the "hello" sentiment on top of the inlay.  Instead of the frame on Marions, I made a background of layers.   I love the contrast of the aqua and yellow together - it looks so bright and happy.
