The Card Concept #6 - Woodland Roses

I hope you had a good weekend!  We woke up to snow on Saturday but it's all gone already.  I wish Spring would get here quick!  I've been seeing signs everywhere.  When I went for a walk yesterday (it's been a while), I heard the Sand Hill Cranes whirling overhead.  They're a migratory bird so it looks like they're coming home to Indiana!  I'm starting to hear the birds again early in the morning too!

Today I'm playing along with The Card Concept.  Use the photo for inspiration  to create a birthday card.   I love the pop of color on the white iced cake, and the wood grain background.  I incorporated lots of the elements from the photo into my card.  A doily for the detailed cake stand, a pop of red and blue like the flowers on the cake, the wood grain Polaroid frame to represent the wood grain backrground in the photo, and some  polka dot paper for those super cute mushroom caps!  I'll be honest - I'm still not sure how to define my style.. I'm leaning toward collage but my elements (in my mind at least) are all related and meant to be together.  I have lots of natural themed elements like the flowers, butterfly button and wood grain.  My next guess would be  Classy & Elegant but I don't know if I would consider this "polished, sophisticated and regal".  I do have a little sparkle and shine - the gems on the flowers and the shiny heart pin.    I'd love to hear your thoughts to help me pin down my style.
If you want to play along there's still a whole week left.  You can get all the details and see the other creations linked up here at The Card Concept.  Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Seriously beautiful! I love this one...I say that a lot, but I am really saying it LOUDLY this time! The colors are beautiful...love that woodgrain polaroid frame and I really love the doily and butterfly button. I think your style is a combo of collage and Class/Elegant and sure wish I could come up with a witty name for it!

I would describe you as boldy vibrant and unrestrained! You certainly make nothing that is contained...always outside the box and most assuredly, never in passive colors. Hmmm, Vibrant Avant-garde would be my description!
Your card is sensational Jeanne! It's a splashy, sassy celebration on paper. Beautifully crafted.
hugs,
Lisa x

Beautiful card - I love that you made the polaroid frame woodgrain AND put it upside down! Love that idea!

You have a style all of your own - and it's wonderful! No need to try and put a name on it - just keep on doing what you're already doing and we will continue to love your work! I have no idea what to call my style either. I love bright colours and lots of layers, struggle with CAS cards and am a perfectionist ... but as long as I like making them I'll continue, even if they don't "fit" into a particular type.

Classy and layered?
This is a wonderful interpretation of the photo you captured all the elements perfectly! How did you do that?
Absolutely beautiful Jeanne!

This is just gorgeous. I don't know what to call your style, but you definitely have style, in spades. Jeannollage, Jeanelegant? You're one of a kind. Love how you use bright colors.

Oh, so beautiful, Jeanne! In my humble opinion, I'm thinking collage style, too. Gorgeous bright colors and layers...well done!:-)

Your style can vary by card and you do them all so fabulously! I see this as more of a collage though. Love the woodgrain frame and sweet wooden button. The colors are so happy and I always enjoy when you use those wonderful flower stamps.

Your style is all 'you' Jeanne! I love your use of bold color and lots of layers as on this beauty. I do not think you fit neatly in a box, although I lean towards collage. I did a lot of soul searching, or maybe I should say style searching, too. Bottom line, just be you! It works! Your work is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing with us this week at The Card Concept.
