Today I'm playing along with the The Ribbon Reel Blog Challenge. I have a good blog friend I met over at Waltzingmouse Stamps who is having a birthday coming up. She doesn't want any fuss, so I made this one in time to pop in the mail to surprise her. I don't think she will see this one unless you tell her so Sssshhhhhhhhhh! It's a secret.
Take a look at this inspiration photo. I thought my friend would like the classic black and white and romantic look of this card considering she is a genteel Southern belle. I don't know her favorite colors, only that she loves a vintage look and I know that big bow will bring a smile. I know she loves Waltzingmouse, Papertrey, WPlus9, Simple Stories, and Memory Box. OK do you know who this is for now? In case you are wondering who I'm talking about I will give you a little hint... her initials are... RL. Ok 'nuff said. Here's the nitty gritty on the card... finally broke down and got a stamp a ma jig - this was so helpful in stamping the frame and the cameo - I highly recommend this to those others who are resisting. I got mine at Joann's with a 40% off coupon. I layered the doilies so that you just get that pop of pink - using lots of pop dots under the solid areas of the doilies - like under those gems.
Here are some close up eye candy shots so you can see the elements on the card better.
And here is the finished card. I hope she likes it - it was a real pleasure to make for her and a special way I can show her that I'm so glad we met!

This card is so gorgeous. I love the colors and all that pretty layering. I know where it's going, too, and I am sure it will be well received!
RL will love it! Those are such beautiful colors and that cameo looks so pretty cut out. I am so glad you like the stampamajig...I use it all the time now too, and it is just as good with clear stamps as it is with rubber. I love those cute little flowrs and the teeny rhinestones. Very pretty card.
just beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous, Jeanne! LOVE that layered focal point and your playful polka dots! I took this one on, too, and even went in the direction of the silhouette. Great minds think alike ;). I'll post it Saturday. Hugs!
Oh course she will love this! Its to die for gorgeous! I love the layering of the doilies, the bow and the pretty touched up pink flower. I love the way the polka dots look on this elegant card. Great job! I think I have the stampajig , off to go look.
Goodness me Jeanne, what a jaw dropping beauty!!! I LOVE the layered doilies, the striking pink cameo (how clever to reverse the traditional black for pink) the stunning rose and fab bow. You're on Top form Jeanne!

Oh its beautiful Jeanne! I love the black and pink together. She is SO going to love it :) How do you get it there still pretty like that through the mail, though? You must have to send it in a padded envelope or something!
So stunning and beautiful and that rose, just gorgeous. Pink and black make a wonderful color combination and you just hit this one out of the park!
