My fur baby is a 100 pound Akita dog named Moriko. She’s my shadow, always by my side. She picks me up when I’m down and loves me unconditionally. She even keeps me in shape with our daily walk.

Today I’m sharing eight cards made with the Pet Shoppe Dog Collection. I know these will be perfect for welcoming fur babies to new homes, thanking caregivers for their service while we are away, or the vet for keeping our girl in tip top shape.

This collection includes lots of extras like printed die cut bits and pieces, washi, decorative brads and foam stickers. I used lots of stickers from the 12” sticker sheet in the collection kit. I apply powder to the sticky adhesive side and suddenly they become die cuts that you can rearrange.

This collection has LOADS of details like the brushes, tennis balls, pawprints, beds and bathtubs perfect for creating scenes or for commemorating special events that are worth documenting. I confess that I do have a scrapbook I keep for my pampered pooch. They don’t stay puppies forever!

Our pups come in all different shapes and sizes with unique markings and behaviors that make them characters that remain in our hearts forever. The pups in the collection have lots of character too and I think you’ll have more than a little trouble choosing a favorite.

To break up the prints I added Color Vibe cardstock. The heavy weight cardstock is solid on one side and has a dot pattern on the reverse. Color Vibe comes in LOTS of colors and you’ll have no problem finding one to match ANY Simple Stories Collection.

Simple Stories Heart Eyes Collection

Today I'm sharing EIGHT cards made with the new Simple Stories Heart Eyes Collection. You're going to love these papers for making Valentine cards and you'll have lots left over for making tags and treat wrappers!

The papers are pink, aqua and orange with dramatic pops of black! The prints are total eye candy.... and I mean candy!! Candy conversation hearts, hearts, dots, stripes, florals, tickets and lots more!

They've got lots of styles covered with the different images - flowers and champagne for your sweetie, candy and cupcakes for your friends and emojis for the young at heart.

This collection has all the trimmings too.. chipboard, printed die cut bits and pieces, washi, stickers, enamel dots, decorative brads, journaling cards and more.

Simple Stories Color Vibe cardstock is perfect for adding solids to your prints. The heavy weight papers are solid on one side and dotted on the other. You'll find a Color Vibe cardstock to match every collection from Simple Stories.

I like to add a strip of washi over seams where papers meet. Stickers from the collection kit double as die cut bits and pieces. I add powder to the adhesive side and use the images as die cuts. Removing the sticky adhesive makes the images easier to move around without sticking them unintentionally before I'm ready.

 

I love that Simple Stories 12" Collection kits include journaling elements as well as SN@P! size cards that make great focal points for your projects.

I always use clear pieces of plastic the size of my card front to arrange elements on before adhering them in place. The plastic sheet makes it easy to pick up my entire arrangement and layer it over pattern paper to decide which print looks best.

Happy 2023!!

Just a note today to wish you a Happy New Year. If you're like me you'll look back on 2022 and think about the accomplishments you achieved as well as the dreams that didn't make it to fruition. You'll think about hard times - maybe some physical issue or money problems, but I hope you think about the good times too.. blessings of good health, and times spent with family and friends.

My card is colorful but really clean and simple! I started by hot foiling the Waffle Flower Confetti on a panel of white cardstock. Next I die cut the 2023 numbers from white cardstock. Laying the numbers on the foil panel allowed me to determine the size of my card.

Next I inked the panel in rainbow Distress Oxide ink. When I was done I wiped it with a paper towel to remove the ink from the foiled Confetti. I inked the smaller detail numbers in the same colors to coordinate with the inky stripes.

The numbers are adhered with adhesive foam tape to add dimension. A "Happy New Year" hot foil Christmas Subsentiment is cut with the Subsentiments die and adhered across the "0".

Another card that I wish you could just see the shine on! It's so fun and just looks like a party going on!
