Waffle Flower Challenge

Are you looking for a challenge to play today? Check out the Waffle Flower Monthly Challenge! This month we're celebrating THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! Yep! We're looking for holiday cards! I know I'm glad to have as many done ahead of time as possible.

Holiday cards can get overwhelming.  To keep it interesting we're providing a "mini theme" every week to  help jump start your creativity.  It's just a different twist on the monthly theme - a way to share ideas for different ways to play along. I've got two friends joining me: Karren Johnson from Karen J. Stamping Stuff  and Lindsey Larson from Occasional Crafting.   And we're challenging you to make a  NON TRADITIONAL COLORED HOLIDAY CARD!!

My card starts with a water colored background.  I used Ranger Distress Ink Refills on my Water Media Matt.  I love the built in little cups that I can add drops of ink into for mixing. 

I topped the panel with half of a Doily Circle and some gorgeous Poinsettia Blooms. I inked the flowers in shades of green and aqua using Copic Markers. I like to color the different sections of the design in different shades for a clean modern stained glass look.

To accent the spattered background I added a few gems in different sizes to that some of the splatters are actually little jewels.
