Sketch Saturday - True Friend

I hope you're having a great day! I'm off to a good start. The weather is just under freezing here (30F) so I took Miss Moriko for a walk. Her nails have been getting long because I've been too cowardly to face the cold. I'm hoping today is the beginning of our regular routine because I know it does us both good to get a little exercise and fresh air.

I'm playing along with Sketch Saturday today. because for me, sketch challenges are the best. They're fun and easy because all the work is already done.. sort of like following a recipe card. You just choose what stamps you like to work with and follow the sketch. 

I wanted to play with the new Pretty Pink Posh Peacock Friends so I made a card stock background in coordinating peacock colors - teal, lime, aqua and royal blue. 

All the images are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic Markers. If you look close you'll see the stitched borders I used for the background stripes. 

The lime card stock was looking a little flat to me so I stamped some feathers on it and then added some dots with a YG23 Copic Marker. I think this added a little texture and more interest to the layout. 

The finishing touch is always a little bling. This time I added Aquamarine Jewels.
