Tag You're It! Challenge 1 - Pinwheels

I'm so excited about a new challenge site I found - and guess what? It's their very first challenge!  I heard about it from visiting some friends who were lucky enough to make the Tag You're It !  Design Team - Marybeth Lopez,  Tracey McNeely, and  Karin Akesdotter!  Congrats to you ladies!!

I've got to tell you ... I just adore tags!  They're a quick easy to make  project - and you can make them as fussy or as simple as you like.  You can even add tags to cards if you are so inclined! Oh the possibilities!  And another big plus?  Well in my opinion anyway?  I can use lots of pretty ribbons for the ties!!

Virginia Lu is the guest designer for this challenge, and she made three pretty tags to inspire!  I decided to follow her lead and make three tags as well - all in a similar style as Virginia's, but with my own little spin on them.  A few differences?  I switched up the theme, color scheme, and used a stamped sentiment instead of a die cut.

To create the white sentiment on the black background, I stamped the sentiment on white card stock with Versafine Ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Next I rubbed a black ink pad over the white card stock.  The clear embossing power allows the white of the paper to peek through.

I hope you're having a great day!  Maybe you have some time to make a few tags?  I had lots of fun with these and can't wait to see the next challenge.

Supplies Used:

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse Say It Loud, Playful Pinwheels
Dies:  Waltzingmouse Stitched Tag
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Tangelo, Love Letter, Bahama Blue, Cantaloupe, Dandelion, Pear Tart, Versafine
Clear Embossing Powder
Ribbon:  3/8" Stitched Red Grosgrain - Celebrate It!  (Michael's)

Very pretty! I like to heat emboss and use white embossing powder...I never tried using the clear on white paper and then putting the black over it...very clever...and I really like the look...Must try that.
