SSCB# 33 - Summertime!

Hi friends!  I hope you are doing good!!  Are you enjoying your summer?  Oooh.. new pic for you of Miss Moriko - her ears are standing up now!   Here's a before and after - which one do you like best?   I like the ears up - mostly because that's what an Akita is supposed to look like... I'd hate to think she got defective ears!  LOL!  The better to hear you with my dear!!

Today I have a card for the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog.  On the first Wednesday of every month we start a new challenge.  At the half way point - the third Wednesday the DT posts a second project to remind you that there is still time to play.  The challenge this time is to add some twine to your project, and our sponsor is The Twinery.  There's a super nice sampler package of Twine up for grabs to one lucky winner.   Everybody is a winner this time - the sale this week is buy 3 items get your 4th item free now through July 23.  What a great time to pick up some of the new word dies!
So what did Mary challenge the DT to do this time?  I told you she's always keeping us on our toes.  I should make you guess...    She asked the DT to make projects that are COOL - so think cool colors, ways to cool off etc.   I had to reach for this little cutie running through the sprinkler. Doesn't that bring back fond memories?   I colored it up with copic markers and added lots of layers on my card.  I used Twinery Solid Mandarin Twine on my project - it's a beautiful alternative to ribbon.

I kept to a primary color palette and used pattern paper from October Afternoon.   They've captured my childhood beautifully and I can never resist any of their collections.

Want to see what the rest of the team made this time?   Just click on their names here to hop to their blogs.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you come play with us at Serendipity!

I do remember those days of running through the sprinkler! Your card is definitely "Cool"!!! Cute idea and love the little bit of twine and the combination of die cuts. I can't wait to have little Jaxon running though my sprinklers!

As a puppy she is sweet with the ears down but as she grows I like them up! OMG she is too cute and so white! Love that undercoat !
I was going to use this same stamp...love the layout of your card and beautiful coloring! Great idea to use the twine around the butterfly .
Missed you for a bit.

So nicely done! Like all the colors that you used. And you are so right the twine looks so much better on this card than a ribbon would have...like the October Aftenoon dp that you chose...really a nice match for your image.

Adorable card, Jeanne--and adorable puppy too! Ears up are definitely best! The colors and papers you used for your card are so fabulous for summer. And running through a sprinkler is a great summer treat--such fun!!

Your puppy is precious. Oh my word...that face. I would never be able to talk in a normal voice around it. "Who's cute..yes you are!"
Your card is sensational. Never cease to amaze with your inventive style and no fear approach to trying new things. :)
