Brilliant Geraniums

Hello dear friends! I hope you're having a great day! I'm so excited about the latest release from Poppystamps! It's got beautiful flowers, butterflies and YES!!! Foiling Dies!

The new Brilliant Geraniums are beautiful. They're one of the first flowers we can plant here in the Midwest because they can tolerate the cooler spring night temperatures. I love that they last through the summer - looking so patriotic in pops of bright red on the front porch!

I cut the flowers and foliage from colored cardstock. To add some coloration to the leaves I used markers and just scribbled a zig zag in the center of each. Because I cut the leaves from different shades of cardstock I used a darker shade of maker to add the detail to each.

I arranged the flowers and leaves on a panel of clear cardstock the size of my card front to help me decide what to put where before I commit and adhere them in place. I like that I can slide different backgrounds under the clear panel to get a "preview" of the finished card.

The card base is a beautiful Penelope Pinpoint Frame layered over pink cardstock - it reminds me of a garden trellis. The leaves are adhered flat to the card base while the flowers are adhered with adhesive foam tape to add dimension.

The sentiment is the Luscious Script Hello cut three times from white cardstock and stacked so it's thick like chipboard. The smaller foil sentiment completes the sentiment. The foil sentiment is from the Modest Greetings set that includes six phrases and one die to cut them with. There are two sets of the Modest Greetings Sentiments with phrases for a variety of occasions.

The finishing touch is bitty Fairy Jewels added to the flower centers and some larger Green Christmas Fairy Crystals added like dewdrops to the background.

Pretty Pink Posh Instagram Hop and Giveaway!

Have you seen the new May release from Pretty Pink Posh? On Wednesday I shared two projects made with new florals, today for the Instagram Hop I made two cards with the new Crafty Critters!

The little Koala from Crafty Critters is ADORABLE! There's also a little mouse in the set and lots of craft supplies... glue, scissors, paint, crayons, ruler, paintbrush and more so you can place any of the elements in their hands.

I started with a Distress Oxide background and stamped it with a sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink. It doesn't bleed into the background ink and stays crisp.

The images are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic Markers. I was originally going to arrange them in a heart shape - more fitting with the sentiment, but I couldn't get enough definition to make it look like a heart.

If I love you more than crafting you just have to know that I love you a WHOLE LOT! because I sure love to craft!

Here's my second card.. I wanted to create a little cubby for the Koala's craft supplies. I see so many beautiful clean craft rooms with white cabinets that I thought the little Koala should have one too.

I die cut two Stitched Filmstrip dies from white cardstock and laid the side by side to make a cabinet. The inside of the cubbies are different color cardstock inlaid into the panel.

Art supplies line the shelves.. the little Koala has a nice stash right? I tucked a sentiment in one of the boxes and adhered the Koala just underneath with adhesive foam tape. The Koala's got scissors in one hand and his journal in another.

I love all the bright happy colors!

Your Smile Lights Up The Room

It's Friday! I hope you have plans for the weekend with someone you ADORE! We could all use more smiles - it's the simple things in life that I appreciate the most and let me tell you.. quality time is right up at the top of my favorites list.

Today I'm sharing a rainbow card (do you see a pattern here?) because I love ALL the colors! This one was easy! I cut the Waffle Flower Stitched Flower Panel from White Cardstock and adhered it to a card base that I covered with double sided tape.

Next I used up some paper scraps and cut the flowers in all my favorite colors and inlaid them into the panel. Enamel dots are added to the flower centers for a little shine.

The Oversized Smile die is cut form the same blue as the last row of full flowers to keep everything coordinated. It's adhered with adhesive foam tape so it's got some dimension.

Smaller sentiments are added from the same Oversized Smile stamp set and cut with a Subsentiments die. If you have one of the Labelmaker sets the die looks very similar and would work just as well.
