Paper Sweeties Post Release Blog Hop - Emma Pinwheel

Did you hear the news?  The Paper Sweeties were officially released yesterday!  This new line of stamps was created by Debbie Marcinkiewicz.  Most of you will recognize Debbie from her Blog Simple Treasures, or as a Design Team Member of The Shabby Tea Room, My Time Made Easy, The Ribbon Reel, and The Craft Journal. If you are a girlie girl at heart, and love playing with pretty and sweet little stamps, then you will love the Paper Sweeties! The set is a series of adorable little dolls with interchangeable outfits, accessories and sentiments. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of playing with my favorite little paper dolls for hours, cutting out their outfits and dressing them up. Now I can continue to have fun with the new Paper Sweeties.

The card I made today features Emma in a pretty purple dress!  I made a fun summery pinwheel out of a small square of two sided paper.  I simply slit the corners toward the center and folded the edges to the center where I placed a small gem.  For a stick I used a flat toothpick.  I made another pinwheel from the same paper only slightly larger to top the bow.

I made this card for a friend to remind her that if you believe in yourself, your dreams can come true.  The pinwheel is a reminder to have fun along the way!

Paper Sweeties - New Releases Day! Sweetness!

Hey guess what?  Today is release day for the Paper Sweeties!  That means all 15 sets are available for purchase at the Paper Sweeties store!  There will be fun and surprises all week including an opportunity to design your very own set of Paper Sweeties!  Please check back every day to check out the news and specials!

To celebrate I made some sweet treats featuring the little ladies!  You can't have a party without some cake can you?    I made some easy pinwheels to dress up cupcakes that would be perfect for a party, and a tag to make a sweet treat extra special for someone!  You don't need a die to make a pinwheel - simply cut a strip of paper 12" x 2" - run the edge through a border punch - and then score every 1/4".  Zig Zag fold the score lines and adhere the two ends.  Hot glue a circle in the center to keep your folds in place and the rest is up to you!   These sweet girls are so easy to identify with - we all know someone who looks like one of the girls, and they are so easy to customize to look like that particular person.  A simple change of hair color, skin tone and outfit and the transition is complete.  Here are closeups of Abigail (blue), Emma (green), and Sophie (red).

Here is the tag I made with Sophie with dark hair and a different skin tone - still adorable, but personalized for someone special!

Paper Sweeties - Pre Release Blog Hop - Back to School

This week we are celebrating the release of the Paper Sweeties stamps created by Debbie Marcinkiewicz.  All week there will be festivities, specials, inspiration, give aways, creativity ... and new stamp sets released for August!!

I've got kids going back to school this week so pretty soon I will have more time to play.  They will be back in their routine, and I will get back into mine - crafting in the afternoon!  I made this one for a special A+ student.  I put a little initial her sweater so she knows this one was made just for her!  This is Emma as a brunette looking ever so fashionable in  a purple monogram sweater and plaid skirt.   Of course she has her act together and her shoes and socks are perfectly coordinated :)
