Tupelo Designs LLC - Koi

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  Friday is my day to post at Tupelo Designs LLC!  They're my favorite store!  I love that they have so many different brands under one roof.  It's easy to pick and choose all my favorites all in one place.. and I'm finding some new favorites every day like this Koi set from Hero Arts!
I really love multi layer stamp sets and was anxious to try these out.  Hero Arts makes lots of colors of  Shadow ink that would be perfect for these, but I used Altenew inks that were also designed for multi stamped images.
The images were easy to line up the multiple layers.  I stamped SEVERAL in lots of different colors selecting the ones I thought were most striking for this card.  The coordinating window die cuts make these a breeze to cut out.
The simple watercolor wash background was made with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.  The background is a stitched rectangle die.
I'm so glad I discovered this pretty set!  I always feel like I got a good deal when I shop at Tupelo Designs LLC.  The items I want are delivered straight to my door - no need to go searching for what I want and shipping is always free (USA only) no coupon code required.
Want to go shopping and treat yourself?  Maybe you'll find some new favorites too!   Just click here to jump to the Tupelo Designs LLC Store!

RCSFYTT #49 - Wishing You A Beautiful Day

I hope you're having a great day!  It's the first of the first of the month and I've got a new Reverse Confetti Sketch For You To Try!  A sketch is always my favorite challenge!  I look at the shapes and try to think of different images that would look good in that particular arrangement.

This new sketch captivated me.. I love those big bold stripes behind the focal point!  And since I love pattern paper I think this sketch is just wonderful!  There's lots of ways you can mix and match papers with this one!

Reverse Confetti is knocking it out of the park with each pattern paper collection they release!  Today I'm working with the new "Pattern Play" 6" pad.  All the papers are coordinated to work together - and helps take the guess work out of what to use.

For the focal point I layered a LACY SCALLOP CIRCLE over a CIRCLES 'N SCALLOPS Confetti Cut! I love the gold peeking through the little openings on the stitched die.
The three circle elements on the sketch were transformed into a flower and leaves from ROSE GARDEN.  I stamped the images with Memento and colored them with Copics.  I made the rose yellow to coordinate with the yellow in the background papers.

I added some fabric trims to this feminine design - lace, ric rac, and a twine bow.

The sentiment is stamped on a TALL TAG TRIO tag.  I wanted to repeat the lacy die cut holes that let more color from the background peek through.

Are you loving this sketch and want to play along?  You have the whole month to join us. You can always find the latest Reverse Confetti Sketch For You to Try by clicking on the badge in the right margin on the blog!  Click here to see more designs from the rest of the team.

Poppystamps Challenge #33 Rainbow Wishes

Happy June!  I know!! Summer's here right?  It's the first of the month and lots of new challenges begin today like this one at Poppystamps called Rainbow Wishes!  They're looking for cards that have a rainbow of colors!
I started this one with a background of washi tape from my favorite brand MT - it's from Japan and I am always delighted with the quality.  It's sticky enough to stay put, but not too strong that you can't move it if is in the wrong place. I've had some brands where the whole roll is stuck together.. never with MT.  I suggest you use mostly solid washi colors for this technique.
Next I die cut the Poppystamps Sweet Pea and Scribble Helo dies from the panel.  I die cut them again from white card stock and inserted them into the washi panel securing them on the reverse side.

I chose gold glitter paper to fill the Sweet Pea Flowers - I knew the gold would be strong enough to hold it's own against all those colorful patterns.
I cut the dies three more times from white card stock and adhered them together so they lift off the card base.  This adds dimension and helps define the die cuts.

I added a few sequins in bold colors to add some sparkle and shine!
