SSCB#32 Window Card - Heart Shaker

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  I feel like I've been running in circles since I got home from vacation this past weekend.   Yesterday I spent 5 hours at the car dealer having some service done.    Hard to believe - especially when they require you to have an appointment.  They blamed it on all the recalls, but wow - it sure would have been nice to have a head's up and maybe just drop the car off instead of sitting for hours.   The service manager just kept popping by saying "we're still working on it - shouldn't be much longer".     I'm all caught up on the talk shows now and am ready to share celebrity gossip!   And I have a new found appreciation for Candy Crush!   Just what I needed LOL!!!

A new challenge begins today at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog.  We present a new challenge for you on the first Wednesday of every month.  This time you are kindly asked to create a card with a window.  You can die cut, punch, or even hand cut a window with a blade... and then what to put inside said window?  Well an image, or a sentiment, how about nesting a die inside that window?  Me?   I decided to make a shaker card. To add to the fun Mary (the owner of Serendipity) asked us to CASE (copy and share everything) a fellow DT member.   I hope it's ok that I reached into the vault for this one.  I saw this tag that SSDT Alumni Cathy Weber made a while back and pinned it onto my secret Pinterest board "Things That I'm Smitten With".  I love the white on kraft, lace and pearls.  Here's Cathy's design....

I embossed the image in white on two pieces of kraft card stock.  I die cut one and then layered it on top of the second, creating a pocket with adhesive foam tape.  I filled the shaker with pearls, buttons, sequins.  I got lucky and found the same lace Cathy used, and some satin ribbon too.   Here's my version of Cathy's tag.

The Challenge #8 - I Quite Like Your Smile

I just got back from vacation!!  You probably wondered why my blog has been so quiet lately.  I had a wonderful time in sunny Hilton Head Island, So. Carolina.  I enjoyed the change of scenery (no palm trees, dolphins, ocean breeze, or alligators here in Indiana LOL!).  It was great to get away and relax.  I won't tell you how much I missed all my crafty supplies - and I didn't tell my family either.  The first thing I did when I got home - even before I unpacked the car was get to work on this card.

I joined a new design team this month!  It's called "The Challenge" and was created by Lesley Croghan.  Lesley is the creator of lots of wonderful challenges including Fusion, Dynamic Duos, Seize the Birthday, Seize the Sketch, Card Concept, and Merry Monday.  How could I refuse when she asked me to play along??  I feel like I'm touched by stamping royalty here!

The Challenge is  hosted on Lesley's blog Always Playing with Paper.  It's a two week challenge so you have until the new challenge is revealed on June 16.  My appointment is only for a few months, and a great chance for me to play along with some of my friends.  It's a sketch challenge and that is seriously my favorite kind.  Take a look at this one - lots of possibilities right?  You know I'm addicted to lots of colors and flowers so this was just natural.

There are just four of us on the team.  I hope you'll hop over and say hi to the ladies and come join us for this sketch!

Paper Sweeties Inspiration #20 Princess Party

Thanks for stopping by and Welcome June!  I think that means it's officially Summer!    I know the calendar won't agree, but hey... the kids are out of school, the sun is shining, and the pool is officially OPEN!   Sounds perfect right?  Everything I expect Summer to be!

On the first of every month Paper Sweeties hosts a new challenge.    The design team is joined by the alumni (previous dt members) to provide inspiration.  It's a fun time seeing what everyone makes and there's always lots of pretty things to see!   It's also a good way to add a few stamp sets to your collection if you're the lucky winner!!   I really enjoy seeing what my old teamies are up to!

This month the theme is Princess Party.   You can work with the photo or the colors - or yes, even both for your Princess Party project.  I  made a card featuring Emma as a pretty princess from head to toe.  How do you like those little shoes with the bows?   I added lots of bling - fit for princess royalty!  Isn't she adorable?

Want to see more Princess Party inspiration?  Here's a list of all the designers with projects today!
