ISSC31 - Wish Big

Seems like the week is really flying by doesn't it?  Nothing like a holiday to get your days all mixed up!  Just think.. another weekend will be here before you know it!!  Today I had some time to play so I made this one for I Spy Sketch ChallengeI colored up Emma from Paper Sweeties and dressed her up in her western attire - this is part of the new release coming out on September 15.  Of course she has her favorite pretty pink pony in hand and is ready to party!    Special thanks goes to Cathy Weber for the perfect western dies from Dienamics!  I think this pretty star charm cut in gold glitter perfectly completes my card!
Thanks for having a peek - hope it made you smile!  Have a beautiful day!

Serendipity Stamps Blog Challenge - That 70's Card

Ok, without getting to personal..... are you old enough to remember the 70's?  Well.. I will own up to it .. I am.  I will tell you true.. I was young ... but I do remember a few things.....   I remember the bicentennial, super big bell bottoms on my jump suit, my favorite denim jacket, and Hootie the Owl telling us kids to "Give a Hoot on Don't Pollute" on commercials between episodes of Speed Racer or Fat Albert.

The Blog Challenge this time for Serendipity Stamps was to create a retro 70's themed card.  I focused on my own memories and started with the denim background.  I wanted my card to resemble a jacket with some fancy colorful patches like the jackets, album covers and graphic T shirts I remember.
I also remember the Jackson 5, the Osmond Brothers, Elvis in Hawaii., glittery iron ons of mushrooms, unicorns...  keep on truckin.......  I will give them credit for the  sprinkle of gems.
Are you thinking about your own favorite 70's memories now?  If you're younger maybe you are a fan of That 70's Show - yes avocado was really a trendy kitchen appliance color.  I can't wait to see what the other design team members came up with for this challenge.  I hope you'll check them out - just click on the links below to jump to their blogs.

Welcome September!

I can't believe it's September already!  The kids are settled in school and Fall is in the air!  The pumpkins in the garden are turning orange, and my pear trees are loaded!  I really love this time of year - the days are sunny and warm and the evenings are cool enough to shut the air conditioning off!
I've been working my way through these pretty month stamps from Serendipity.  They are really beautiful and detailed with images for each month, and much too pretty to bring out just for a calendar project.   I wanted to play up the "back to school" theme of the stamp so I used a library book background, ruler ribbon, and tucked in a little notebook paper.  This would be beautiful to include with a gift for teacher, a back to school note for a child at college or maybe a September birthday!  I colored the image with Copics, fussy cut it and then mounted it on a distressed die from Couture Creations.
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!
