Graphic 45 Lost in Paradise

Hi friends! If you know me, I love bright bold colors and mixing and matching paper prints. I have tried many different crafts over the years but my obsession is cardmaking!
Today I’m sharing four cards made with the Graphic 45 Lost in Paradise Collection! I love the beautiful tropical prints that remind me of the botanical and field guides I would find at the library when I was a child.

The intricately rendered images are stunning in detail and are a feast for the eyes. I could look at them for hours and take a sweet escape (daydream) to far off places.

I prefer working with the 8” pattern paper pads. They have the same print as the larger 12” sheets but a slightly smaller print ideal for cardmaking. My cards are an A2 size (4.25 x 5.5”) so each 8” sheet cut in half can cover two card fronts and still leave a 2 1/2” strip for paper layering.

I used die cuts, stickers and chipboard elements on my cards. I love the thick chipboard and the dimension it adds to projects giving them an expensive look.
I usually add baby powder to the sticker backing to remove the stickiness making them easier to arrange before I commit to placement. They’re easy to adhere later with double sided tape or liquid adhesive. I like to use adhesive foam tape to add more dimension.

The papers also include sheets of journaling cards ideal for card fronts. They’re fun to embellish with the stickers and die cuts. The Sentiments Stamp set is perfect for finding the right sentiments to add to your greeting or note cards.
I hope you’re inspired to make some beautiful greeting cards for family and friends with your favorite papers! A warm hello from the heart is always welcome!

My Creative Scrapbook November 2020 Main Kit

Did you ever wish you had a personal shopper for your craft supplies? Now more than ever I appreciate that My Creative Scrapbook puts together a kit perfect for card making or journaling. The kit includes papers, die cut images and stickers perfectly coordinated to work together. Here's a peek at the November 2020 Main Kit.

This kit is LOTS of FUN! I loved the garden images and unexpected cute critters! The pretty papers and die cuts are from American Crafts - Pebbles -Jen Hadfield's The Avenue Collection.

The kit includes papers, die cuts, stickers and more. The only things you need to make with this kit are cardstock card bases, adhesive, and some enamel dots or sequins if you choose. Everything else you see is included.
The papers include a complete sheet of tags. There's another 12" sheet with 2x2" squares and easy to cut apart sentiments.

You'll find pretty florals to arrange and a few little critters to tuck in the foliage. The smiling little snails are the cutest. Why don't they look like this in real life? LOL!!
You'll find die cut houses and trees perfect for making scenes. I cut the green papers into wavy hills and added a light blue print of flowers for a sky.

I posted four cards earlier this month that are just as cute as can be. You can visit the My Creative Scrapbook web page and find a whole gallery of projects made with this fun kit so you'll have lots of ideas and inspiration to work with.
Crafting is my way of relaxing and escaping the news that I can't seem to get away from. There is so much stress today.. covid, unemployment, the election.. sometimes you just need to get away - even if it's in your head!
Again I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate having the ability to mail order a card making kit and have it delivered straight to my door. I've been receiving this club kit since February - I never know what the theme will be or what items they will select to send me - and I haven't been disappointed yet. Each kit is a delight. You can find out more about My Creative Scrapbook and their different kits here.

Simple Stories Winter Cottage Collection

Hi Friends! I hope you’re having a great day! Today I’m sharing NINE cards made with the Simple Stories Winter Cottage Collection. I know.. I got a little carried away! LOL! I confess, it was a sweet escape playing with this cozy collection that has me dreaming of sitting inside on a snowy day sipping a cup of hot cocoa!
This collection has all the goodies you’ve come to expect from Simple Stories.. Bits and Pieces printed die cut images, chipboard, washi, stickers, decorative brads and so much more! Everything is perfectly coordinated so you know that whether your making cards or documenting memories, it’s going to look amazing!
You’ll find images of snowy cottages, a forest of pine trees, winter florals and everything to make your season comfy cozy including warm cups of your favorites, snuggly sweaters and scarves too. There’s even a sprinkle of gold foil accents on the cut out pieces.
The colors and prints are beautiful too! You’ll find plaids, dots, snow and floral prints in darker winter shades of ruby, emerald and sapphire with a pop of pink and blue pastels to keep things fresh!
I love the journaling bits and pieces that are perfect for creating foundations to create a focal points over a background of beautiful patterned paper prints.
Check out this winter “to do” list. I embellished the card with bitty die cut images of items on the list. It was fun sorting through all the embellishments to find the perfect one in just the right size. The background is a quilt of pattern paper strips from the collection.
Another way to break up the bold pattern papers to let the images take center stage, is to add a piece of light print paper. I cut a 3x4” panel of light pink paper to frame the winter elements on this card. I always like to add elements over the seams where the different papers meet.
I added a bit of washi, a decorative brad and a sticker sentiment on each of my cards shown today. Can you spot them on each? You might have to search a little!
This collection is ideal for creating scenes too. Just cut wavy hills of pattern paper and top them with trees and snow covered cottages or cute woodland critters like this bear to complete the scene.
I hope this collection gives you the “warm fuzzies” of memories of perfect winter days past, and thoughts of making even more memories this season.
