My Creative Scrapbook July 2025 Main Kit

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a great day! If you're looking for a great way to treat yourself I hope you consider trying a subscription to one of the My Creative Scrapbook monthly kits. They select the pattern papers and lots of coordinating supplies and deliver it straight to your front door so all you have to focus on is MAKING! Every month they have several kits to choose from.. their Main Kit, LE - Limited Edition, Creative Kit and Album Kit - so you can choose what's right for you!

This time I'm playing with the Main Kit that includes 12" papers and embellishments from Vicki Boutin "Cut & Paste" Collection as well as a few others to surprise you. You'll also find die cuts, stickers, chipboard, and lots more! Everything is perfectly coordinated to work together and shipped directly to your door!
This collection just screams Summer! The colors are bright and bold - think primary colors with added details in black for just the right amount of drama and contrast.
As a card maker I always start by cutting the papers down to 6x6" square that are more manageable for me. I like to keep the decorative edge attached (see the hearts on top of the stripes above as an example) whenever possible so I can use it on my designs. It looks like I coordinated it, but it was printed this way! The trim also makes great faux washi!
I like to use journaling cards and scraps of paper to make focal points so the die cut designs don't fade into the background when the patterns get busy.
The kit has lots of different elements that I like to pair together. This kit had lots of "crafty" supply die cuts like the tape, glue, pencils and more. I separated these for a craft themed card.
I arrange the images on clear plastic sheets the size of my card front. This gives me a preview of what the finished card will look like before I commit and adhere everything in place. I can also slide pattern paper under the arrangement to see if my choices work well together.
The kit includes everything you need to make these cards. The only items I added were the card bases, solid cardstock papers, and adhesives. This time my kit included some sequins and buttons too that you'll see scattered throughout my designs.
I invite you to join one of their monthly kit clubs and experience the possibilities that their coordinated kits offer. With plenty of innovative materials and ideas to jump start your imagination, preserving your memories and making cards will be effortless and enjoyable. You can see all of the different kits available this month here at My Creative Scrapbook.

Time To Party!

Today I'm playing along at Seize The Birthday where this time you are to add a food or drink to your design. That should be easy peasy because birthdays are all about the CAKE! LOL!
My card starts with a stenciled background of colorful boxes - this is the Pretty Pink Posh Square Grid stencil. I used distress ink and blocked off the different boxes with sticky notes to keep each area clean!
Next I stamped, colored and die cut the little iconic birthday images and adhered the images in the boxes. I tried to color coordinate them so the background matches the colors on the box background.
A die cut Doily Border in white topped with a solid piece of hot pink cardstock are added along the top edge along with a bow to make the finished card look like a package. The sentiment is added on a Sentiment strip and attached to the bow with a gourd shaped pin that you can find on Amazon.
I hope your smiling and that you find some time to play today!

Have A Holly Jolly Christmas

Today I'm playing along at Jingle Belles challenge where this time it's Poinsettia Perfection! I love florals so count me in!
My card started with the die cut Poinsettia Frame from Waffle Flower. I cut all the pieces and then arranged them on a panel of clear plastic the size of my card base. This helps me determine the arrangement. As you can see, I cut the leaves from different shades before deciding on these particular greens. .

For the background I did a simple striped stencil in shades of pink to pick up on the berries on the frame.
The coordinating stamp set offers several sentiments that will fit perfectly inside the frame. My card is a little larger because I like to add matting to my designs. The dark outer layer makes taking photographs easier. White on white just disappears on my white photo background.
It's never too early to start those holiday cards! You'll be glad you did when December rolls around!
