Postage Collage Herb Silhouettes

Today I'm playing at Crazy is our Fame - Stencils are our Game Challenge Blog! If you love stencils, you really need to check them out.

I love the Postage Collage Series from Waffle Flower Crafts. I never thought they'd have so many different designs to choose from and each release is better than the last.

This one starts with the Postage Collage Waves stencil that was inspired by one of my very own cards. I made a wavy background masking with sticky notes. I don't need to do that any more now that this stencil set is available!

Once I inked the blocks I just stamped the Herb Silhouettes and then topped the inky panel with a die cut frame. The "air mail" stripes are from the Postage Collage Coloring stencil set. I inked them in colors to coordinate with the window colors.

I'm usually a brights gal, but I'm really happy with these more toned down colors turned out! It's a good reminder to try something you might not be so comfortable with.

Jolly Wave Hello

Today I'm playing at Word Power Challenge where it's always anything goes as long as a word is the focus of your design.

My card is made with lots of goodness from Waffle Flower Designs and look! No stamps! All dies! LOL!!!

I started with the Jolly Wave A2 Background Panel cut from white cardstock. I adhered it to a sheet of double sided tape and then cut up ALOT of scraps and inserted all the little pieces into the sticky holes to create this beautiful colorful background.

I topped the pretty panel with a great big Waving Hello Word die. To make it pop I cut the outline die from gold glitter cardstock. The detail word die is cut from white cardstock. This die also includes an exclamation mark that I left off the design.

Lemonade O Clock

Today I'm playing at First Cup Challenge! This is a new challenge site for me, but it sounds like fun. This time of year - on a hot August day, it's lemonade o clock, but I know I'll be back and playing all year because who doesn't like to treat themselves?

I love the Summer Sips from Pretty Pink Posh! I had lots of fun coloring the drink contents with lots of colors! The garnishes make everything fun and tropical! Like a sweet escape on paper!

I wanted the background to be just as fabulous as those drinks so I inked a Sunburst Pierced Plate with rainbow shades of Distress Oxide. They are muted enough that they don't compete with the bright drink colors.

The sentiments are from the Happy Summer stamp set. It includes a large script "Summer" and several smaller strip sentiments.

I love all the seasons. I will miss break time when I make a lemonade for me and Mr. J. But maybe hot chocolate o clock is just around the corner!

Sweet Scarecrow Autumn Greetings

Today I'm playing at the Four Seasons Challenge where it's all about FALL! I'm a gardener and this is the time of year that I have to remind myself to stop watering. No matter how much I water, the garden has reached it's end. The only thing doing well right now are the sunflowers and squash. Leaves are falling in thick blankets from our Cottonwood (Poplar) trees and the bees are getting aggressive, looking for anything sweet they can find!

My card features the Pink & Main Sweet Scarecrow stamp set! I love all the details included in this set. It's got everything you need to make a fabulous scene. The sunflowers, pumpkins, grass and even those little crows are included!

Everything is layered on a simple Distress Oxide Background. I love how seamless it blends with no brushmarks. The sentiment (also included in the stamp set) is inked with Versafine Ink.

The finishing touch was adding a sun made with stacked Stitched Circles and a few glitter enamel shapes.

I Miss Seeing You

Thanks for stopping by! I sure hope you are having a great day! I'm sharing a card that I made for this month's challenge - Anything Goes! The challenge is a great way to see what others are making with your favorite Poppystamps dies, and when you link your own design to an on line gallery like Instagram you're automatically entered to win the monthly prize - a $20 gift card to the shop! My cards always start the same way. I arrange images on a piece of clear plastic the same size as my card base. I rearrange and add items until I'm happy with the layout and then I experiment by adding different backgrounds under the clear plastic. This gives me a preview of the finished card. On this card it helped me figure out how high to ink the green grassy area before beginning the blue purple sky.

The Nordic Waving Fox was easy to assemble. The hardest part was deciding on what color her outfit should be. I added rosy cheeks with an alcohol marker. Pretty flowers from the Lovely Flower Bundle are cut in shades of pink and yellow.

I stamped the sentiment directly on the Distress Oxide Panel with Versafine Ink. I think the stamp vs. a die cut sentiment gives this one a cleaner look. The finishing touch is a sprinkle of Treasure Chest Fairy Gemstones.
