Poppystamps Cute Critters Challenge

Did you know that Poppystamps has a monthly challenge? It's a great way to find inspiration, see what others are making with their Poppystamps products, and even have a chance to win a gift certificate to the store. This month the challenge is Cute Critters, and Poppystamps has lots to choose from. Just be sure to include one on your design and link it to any on line gallery like Instagram!

I love making scene cards! This one came together quick! I started with a sky blue background and then added the Nordic Treeline row of green pines. The snow is cut from white cardstock, and white glitter cardstock with the hills from Whittle Field and Trees. I alternated the plain and glitter paper for some contrast.

The Nordic Playful Penguin looks like he's just met the Nordic Happy Snowman. I love that their outfits are similar - one in red and one in blue.

A circle cut from the Scallop Pinpoint Rings becomes a sun coming up behind the trees, and the finishing touch is a sprinkle of Fairy Crystals to look like snow!

Snow-Body Like You!

Today I'm playing along at Crazy is Our Fame, Stencils Are Our Game where the January challenge is Hello/Winter. You're to use the word "hello" on the card and/or make a winter design.. .and of course.. Use a Stencil!

This snowman design is entirely stenciled using the Waffle Flower Oversized Snowman. Since most of the card remains white you just ink the background, earmuffs, scarf and facial features.

To add a pattern to the scarf I inked the scarf in red, and then added a snowflake pattern stencil over scarf stencil. I inked in a darker shade so it is subtle like a watermark.

The rosy cheeks were added with a dauber dipped in Spun Sugar Distress Ink.

The sweet sentiment is from the Snow Cheer stamp set. I love the script font that looks handwritten.

Gifting Snowmen & Giveaway!

Today I'm playing along at If You Give A Crafter A Cookie where this month it's Anything Goes! It's COLD here! And it's been snowing today. That won't slow Miss Moriko down - but I wasn't born with a fur coat! I was happy to get back home!

Don't get me wrong.. I still love snow, and have fond memories of my childhood when I see a snowman, but leaving a warm bed the first thing in the morning to face the cold winter wind is not the best way to start the day! LOL!

My card today starts with a striped background that I topped with a Snowflake Cluster die that I cut from white glitter paper. I toped that with a frosty Snowcapped Hello word die that I double cut in shades of purple.

The Gifting Snowmen die set from Waffle Flower is my favorite snowman die this year. They come together quick and the accessories are easy. The little stripes on the scarf is just one die - not several stripes making it easy to attach.

Subsentiments are another favorite because they are preprinted die cut labelmaker type sentiments that coordinate well with word dies. No stamping or cutting required.

Let It Snow!

Hi Friends! Happy New Year! I hope your 2025 is off to a good start! We're in the middle of a cold snap here in the Midwest so I'm happy to be comfy cozy at home making it all!

I wanted to remind you today that Poppystamps has a monthly challenge It's a great way to show how much you love Poppystamps and let us all see what you make! The theme this month is Midas Touch! It's our way of wishing you that everything you touch turns to gold! This time we're asking you to add some gold to your design. It's easy to link your designs to your Instagram, Blog, or other online gallery. 

I made a snow scene featuring the Nordic Dancing Gnome. He looks a heck of a lot like Santa, but he's quickly turning into one of my favorite forest friends! His "dancing" posture made him perfect for posing on a Forest Stump tree trunk.

I added the Nordic Fancy Background to look like a snowy sky, and the Whittle Field and Trees cut from white glitter paper makes a snowy ground. Nordic Frilly Trees are cut from green and a bit of gold embellishes their branches.

Happy Winter To You All!

Baby it's cold outside! That's not keeping me from walking the dog, but when I got in the car to visit my Mom I found that the battery was dead! Fortunately we didn't have any pressing appointments so when DH gets home he'll have a look and hopefully I can try again tomorrow! When life brings you a cold and snowy day you have to just embrace it and find the beauty. I'm doing just that with this card made with the Pink & Main Snow Family!

This one comes together quick because it's one big image vs. separate images, and because they're snow people they're mostly left white. The coordinating die set makes these easy to cut too!

If you are familiar with me then you know that I LOVE COLOR! To sneak in as much color as possible I created a patchwork of pretty papers from the Cozy Winter 8.5 x 5.5" pack. I love the pop of purple which is so pretty especially this time of year!

I created a "sun" by stacking Stitched Circles of patterned paper. The sentiment and snowflakes are included in the stamp set. A sprinkle of silver sticky gems adds some sparkle and shine and a Fun Scallop Border grounds the images so they don't appear to "float" on the card.

Stay warm and enjoy your day! The cold and snow are always more beautiful when you're looking out the window in the comfort of your own home!
