12 Kits of Occasions - TAGS!

It's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all receive the same kit with the same items. On the last day of the month we reveal what we each made with the kit. It's fun to see how we used the product in different ways. Sometimes the projects are similar and sometimes they are very different.

Wow it's been a busy month with lots of festivities! Our hostess this month is Marcia Hill from Marcia's Stamping Pad and what an amazing kit she put together for us. Marcia put a different twist on the kit by sending us all the makings for Christmas TAGS!

There were die cuts from Sunny Studios, Papertrey Ink, Reverse Confetti and Simon Says Stamp. Stamped images were from Neat & Tangled, Lawn Fawn, Penny Black, My Favorite Things and MORE!

I had lots of fun making, and could have kept going making one little master piece after another!

12 Kits of Occasions - Summer Fun!

Our hostess this month is Birgit Norton - Crafting While I Wait! Her kit is a ray of summer sunshine in paper! There are beach going penguins, palm trees and pretty hibiscus flowers! The papers are from Echo Park's Summer Fun Collection. When I was done making there were only two things I didn't use.. the pretty green and pink sequins, and the twine. Very strange because I'm always adding embellishments whenever I can. I can't keep my hands off the PPP jewels I guess!

I hope you're having a great day! It's Friday and that means it's my day to post at TupeloDesignsLLC! Today I've got two cards to share - they're both the same design and layout - with just a simple change up of color from blue for baby boy to pink for baby girl!

Both cards were made with the Spellbinders New Arrival stamp and die set. I think that sets like these with the stamps and dies in one package are a great value. 

The stamps in this set are red rubber so you get a clean impression every time. 

The fancy frame die is from Penny Black - it's called Stitched Stackers.

If you'll look close you'll see the background is embossed with dots. I left the bottom portion I wanted to stamp on out of the embossing folder to keep it clean and smooth. 

All the images are stamped with memento ink and colored with Copic markers. Even if you don't color this was really simple as the stork was left white. 

The set even includes stars and cloud dies. 

These are great cards to add to my stash and were easy to make.

Happy Friday! I hope you've got some plans for the weekend! Have the Christmas parties started yet? The month is just beginning so there's still lots of time to get together and spread some holiday cheer! 

This card is so bright and cheery and really so easy to make! 

I love shopping at Tupelo Designs LLC because I always find something new to play with. Today I made this cute Christmas card using one die set - The Penny Black Ornamental Branch.

I started with a color block background of card stock strips. I trimmed the panel to fit my card base and then added die cuts in white. The finishing touch was a sprinkle of stars from the Queen and Company Sequins toppings. The toppings include 8 different colors of toppings each in it's own package. The sequins include stars, circles, flowers and more!

I love the little girlfriends sharing a secret in this image called "Whispers"!  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copic Markers.  The die cuts are from My Favorite Things (another brand you'll find in the store).  The "Pssst...." sentiment is stamped with Versafine ink.  I love how rich and crisp it is.

My favorite part of crafting (other than the peace of mind it brings me) is the wonderful friends I've met on line!

Crafty friends are the best.. always ready to listen, lend a hand, and they send the best "pick me up" cards!

Tupelo Designs LLC - Chinese Lanterns

Happy Friday!  I hope you're having a great day.  As usual I've got my mind on the weekend! LOL!  The weather has turned really cool here in the Chicago area - it's in the 60's and it's starting to feel like Fall is near!  It puts me in a melancholy mood thinking about the seasons changing, and school starting soon.  Don't get me wrong.. I love the change of the seasons, but it somehow always feels like once I'm in a routine that it changes! You know what I mean.. like when you're on vacation.. by the time you start relaxing it's already time to come home?

Today I'm playing with the Penny Black Chinese Lanterns from Tupelo Designs LLC!  I was smittten with this stamp from the minute I saw it!  I used to grow Chinese Lanterns in the yard and they really are beautiful.

I placed the stamp in my stamp tool and inked it up with Distress Ink Markers.  I colored the images on the rubber stamp, spritzed with water and stamped on watercolor paper.

I added three different shades of color to the leaves (Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron) and four to the Chinese Lanterns (Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade). You can add more detail and color by stamping a second time if you want certain areas a little darker.

I splattered the design with watered down distress ink in Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron, Ripe Persimmon and Gold. To add more color and give a finished look I inked up the edges of the panel too.

The sentiment is from Concord and 9th Brushed Blossom set - it has lots of great sentiments.  I stamped mine in Versafine Onyx Black.
