Rain or Shine

Hi and a big thank you for stopping to say hello! It's been mostly rain here for the past few days. Being inspired by nature I thought it would be fun to make a weather themed card.

I decided to focus on the rainbows that only a good shower can bring. My background papers (from the Pretty Little Studio Love Is Kind Collection) are sky blue. I topped them with a rainbow starburst print journaling card and some scallop die cut edges.

I topped that with some clouds! The yellow butterfly looks like the sun peeking through with the promise of a beautiful day!

The collection has lots of great sentiments to choose from but I knew that this was the one!

I hope you're having a great day! I never seem to have enough time to do everything I'd like to do. Maybe if I stopped playing around making things I'd get it all done! LOL! Like that's ever going to happen!

Today I'm playing along at Word Art Wednesdayhttps://wordartwednesday.blogspot.com/ with this pretty card made with Waffle Flower supplies!

This card starts with a Butterfly Background stencil in three shades of Distress Ink. This time I did the blending vertically vs. the usual horizontal.

Next I added the Elongated Oval die cut. I thought it would make a great shaker. This is a three part die so you will want to tape it together on the reverse so it doesn't fall apart!

The shaker center makes the perfect focal point for a great big Get Well sentiment with a label maker type subsentiment.

Take Care

Today I'm playing along at Try It On Tuesday where this time we're in the garden. I appreciate the miracle of life as I watch the plants develop and grow. The reward is always beautiful blooms and the birds and butterflies that they attract. It's always a feast for the eyes and that's what I try to create in my paper designs.

This is the beautiful Sketched Poppy from Waffle Flower Crafts. It's easy to stamp and then color with the coordinating stencil set. Everything comes together quick.

I wanted to keep the "nature" theme going by adding a Quilt Hexagon pattern to the background to look like honeycomb. I used a bright turquoise cardstock over a yellow glitter paper for lots of sparkle and shine.

An Oversized Take Care print sentiment and a sprinkle of red enamel dots finish the design. I like the graphic look of this one that's clean and bold.

Always Flowers

Flowers are my favorite subject and this time of year I'm finding lots of inspiration in my own back yard. Every day it seems like a new bloom is showing off it's pretty petals. Lately I've been noticing Clematis in different shades and used that as inspiration for my card.

The pink flowers in my design are from Waffle Flower and are called Painted Flowers. I cut them in different shades of cardstock and each color is gorgeous.

To add more color and YES! more flowers to my design I layered them on a Pop Up Tulips background that I inked with the Lovely Tulips stencil. The background paper is lavender.

A Nested Pinking Circle makes a great focal point for the Take Care sentiment. I love the Print and Script word sets because you get a written and print sentiment that you can mix if you choose.
