Happy 2023!!

Just a note today to wish you a Happy New Year. If you're like me you'll look back on 2022 and think about the accomplishments you achieved as well as the dreams that didn't make it to fruition. You'll think about hard times - maybe some physical issue or money problems, but I hope you think about the good times too.. blessings of good health, and times spent with family and friends.

My card is colorful but really clean and simple! I started by hot foiling the Waffle Flower Confetti on a panel of white cardstock. Next I die cut the 2023 numbers from white cardstock. Laying the numbers on the foil panel allowed me to determine the size of my card.

Next I inked the panel in rainbow Distress Oxide ink. When I was done I wiped it with a paper towel to remove the ink from the foiled Confetti. I inked the smaller detail numbers in the same colors to coordinate with the inky stripes.

The numbers are adhered with adhesive foam tape to add dimension. A "Happy New Year" hot foil Christmas Subsentiment is cut with the Subsentiments die and adhered across the "0".

Another card that I wish you could just see the shine on! It's so fun and just looks like a party going on!

Happy New Year!

Do you have any big plans for New Year's Eve? With the cold snap we had this week I expect alot of us will be staying home. That's not a bad deal.. spending a little time with your family!

Today I'm sharing two cards that look very similar - I've switched up the technique on them. Can you tell that one is a little brighter colored than the other? The softer of the two has a frosty coat of glitter over the top. I wish you could see that shine!!

Both cards start with the Waffle Flower Brush Lettered New Year die cut inside a large stitched circle from the Lacy Circles Set. You place one die inside the other and cut them at the same time.

Next I cut the same circle from white cardstock and applied Distress Ink in rainbow colors. I adhered the fussy cut die over the inky circle so the color peeks through. I cut the New Year die again from black cardstock and inlayed the Happy New Year sentiment.

To add glitter like I did on the blue version of the card I added a panel of double sided adhesive and then glitter over the inky panel before adding the detailed die cut. The largest Lacy Circle makes the perfect frame for the new year sentiment.

Party Like Its 2023!

Today I'm playing along at the Double Trouble Challenge. Thing one is Christmas or any other holiday. Thing two is keep your design white, and Thing three is rainbow of color choice. I'm sharing a New Year's day card with a RAINBOW of all the colors!

My card starts with the Waffle Flower hot foil Swag background on white cardstock. Next I used the coordinating stencil set to cover the swags and apply blue Distress Ink to the background.

I colored the swags with Copic Markers in rainbow colors. The foil makes it easy to stay in the lines!

Next I added the 2023 numbers repeating the foil by cutting the number backgrounds from gold glitter cardstock.

The sentiment is easy to add right through the middle of the numbers on a strip of white cardstock.

I wish you could see the shine on this one... it's totally a party going on!

Waffle Flower September Release Blog Hop!

These are the new Layered Abstract Flowers on a gold foil background called Elongated Hex. I used the coordinating stencil to add color to the Hex centers and some glitz gel makes them look like gems!

The Eucalyptus Panel Frame makes a great focal point for a sentiment. I inked a colorful background panel, and some gold sequins for a pretty shaker!

Now for some holiday inspiration! The new HOT FOIL Oversized Merry Christmas is so pretty layered over a gold foil background. I added stenciled hex centers with a coordinating stencil and some Christmas Sub Sentiments.

How about some HOT FOIL CONFETTI for the new year? I topped the foil with Distress Oxide and YEAR 2023 die cuts.

The Brush Lettered Happy New Year Die is so pretty! I made two cards.. both have distress ink backgrounds in rainbow colors, but one has a layer of glitz glitter gel over the top for some extra sparkle and shine.

This is the HOT FOIL SWAG Background die. I used the coordinating stencil to add Blueprint sketch distress ink between the swags, and colored the swag elements in rainbow colors with Copic Markers. The YEAR 2023 numbers are cut from gold glitter and white cardstock.
