Just Us Girls #768 Anything Goes Stencil Week!

Lucky me! I'm guest designer this month at Just Us Girls Challenge! They always have beautiful inspiration, fun challenges and a terrific design team! The challenge this week is

Anything Goes Stencil Week! There are so many ways to use stencils.. to create beautiful backgrounds, add texture and to color stamped images!

My card features the Waffle Flower Sketched Poppy stamp that I inked with the coordinating stencil set. I layered the completed image over a panel of watercolor paper that I colored with Lindy's Gang Magical Watercolors.

Rather than stamp the uneven cover panel and worry about the impression, I stamped a piece of clear acrylic with Staz On ink and layered it over the completed design.

This on e has lots of layers.. a rectangle frame, and a smaller rectangle matt topped with an Oversized Postage die cut.

The finishing touch was a pre printed die cut subsentiments "sending prayers" sentiment, and a few candy dots!

Blessed Dainty Foliage

I'm starting to feel that fall is just around the corner. I've noticed that the days are getting shorter and that some of the birds have started migrating. I'm blessed to live in a part of the world that experiences all four seasons and always try to notice the changes each one brings.

Today I'm playing along at Cardz 4 Guyz where this time they're looking for masculine cards that celebrate Camping or Outdoor Activities. Camping always seems best to me in the fall when the temperatures are a little cooler, and my favorite camping activity would be hiking.

I love going for a walk and finding a secret world so different than home. I delight in every new thing I spy from fungus growing on a tree trunk to ferns and fiddleheads in lush abundance.

My card has lots of layers and texture from the zig zag texture plate in antique linen to the stitched woodgrain.

The detailed ferns are gorgeous ! I cut them from different shades of green to bring out their detail.

Celebrate the little things in life that you take for granted and remember life it beautiful!

Faith

The year is quickly winding down to a close. It's been a tough one for lots of us. I wanted to remind you to keep looking forward, to have faith and to let you know that you're not alone.

I'm playing with Waffle Flower's Candlelight die set that I embellished with some flowers and foliage from the Little Branches die set.

To keep the candlesticks from "floating off the page I "grounded" them with a piece of cardstock cut at an angle to look like the surface of a table.

Colorful circles help the candle flame "glow". I stamped the sentiment from "Faith" over the assembled dies for a clean design.

Faith Makes All Things Possible

Sorry I'm a little MIA again lately. My Dad's health has taken a turn for the worse and I've been visiting with him and helping my Mom wherever I can. So I think this card is perfect for today for me anyway. I'm trying to have faith and know that this is in God's hands.

I'm playing along at Use Your Stuff #479 today where the challenge is Paper Strips. I keep ALL of my scraps. I arrange the pieces by color in an inexpensive metal 9x13" baking pan on keep them on a shelf on my roll around cart that fits under my desk. I'm always grabbing the small pieces to use on projects.

When that tray starts getting full I pull out some border dies like the Pretty Pink Posh Stacked Edges or these Skinny Strips from Waffle Flower. I cut lots of strips at the same time and then store them in the envelope I keep the die in.

When I'm looking for a colorful background I attach the strips to a cardstock panel. I usually arrange them in rainbow colors but just about any combination looks great!

The Oversized Faith sentiment die pairs perfectly with the coordinating sentiments. I chose primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) for the sentiments. The white outline die helps them stand out against the busy background.

Waffle Flower January 2023 New Release Blog Hop

This release is called "Elegant Basics" because it includes lots of elements for making great backgrounds and letting them take center stage! The card above is made with the new LINE FRAMES FOIL PLATE. There's a coordinating stencil set that's perfect for adding bold color to the design.

This card features the new QUILTED ZIG ZAG die. It features a stitched die cut design that's beautiful "as is" or again, you can add color with the coordinating stencil set.

There's some new word dies in the house. This is the OVERSIZED FAITH die. The OVERSIZED HOPE is shown above. Both sets include a detail and a background die and YES! There are coordinating sentiments.

Meet A LITTLE BIRDIE. This die set includes a layered bird and a special delivery package. I included florals from the new LITTLE BRANCHES DIE for my card above.

The new CANDLELIGHT die is perfect for inspirational messages. I added LITTLE BRANCHES florals and foliage and some stacked circles to radiate light!

Sympathy cards are always so hard for me. This one looks elegant with the new FLOURISH PANEL topped with a stencil colored IRIS and WITH SYMPATHY sentiment.
