You Bring Light To My Life

It's a chilly day here in Northwest Indiana - I'm staying home and doing a little crafting today. I love that I can escape to anywhere I like by making my own happy place.

Today I'm playing along at Try Stampin' on Tuesday where this is the challenge this time. The option of making a Slimline card is on the table here too!

My card features the Waffle Flower Slimline Trio Three die. It's perfect for creating scenes or adding three elements to the windows.

I used the Happy Gnomes stamp set and put a little scene in each of the windows. I inked the cut out background pieces with distress oxide in green and blue to create a background.
  

I stamped a sentiment on the window outline panel. All that was left was to add the cute little images. If you look close you'll see that some of the images are adhered flat while others are adhered with adhesive foam tape. This adds dimension and brings the scene to life.

This die has lots of possibilities because it also includes dies for captions, a set of circles (I used one for the sunshine), squares and hearts.

Waffle Flower Tender Blooms

Happy Friday! Are you ready for the weekend? I know.. they're not exactly what they used to be.. but I'm still looking forward to time at home with dh. We've been cooking together alot on weekends.. trying new recipes. I'm hoping we'll get all the Christmas decorations put away too!

Well a little about me.. :P My favorite hobby is paper crafting. I love to make cards because I can experiment on a small size canvas and mail it to send a smile! In the winter I like to escape the cold by make make making.. and in the summer you'll find me outside in the yard tending the garden. 

My card today features the Waffle Flower Tender Blooms stamp set on a background of distress color ink. I die cut the Tender Blooms with the coordinating stamp set, and then die cut the sentiment into the bouquet.

I added a few white glitter enamel dots to the design for a little sparkle and shine because YES! I love a little bling too!

Nuts About You

Hi friends and thanks for stopping by! I hope life is treating you well and you're taking time to enjoy the simple things in life. For me that's a homecooked meal, walking the dog, or making with bright colors and cute images that just make me smile!

The new Lattice Plate die makes a beautiful background for just about any card. I topped it with a Pointed Oval Frame to "set the scene" for my Valentine card. I cut the inside of the oval from light blue card stock to create a sky. Next I layered some green paper that I cut with the Wave Trio and then cut it again with the same oval so that the shape matches the inside of the frame perfectly.

I cut Whittle Hearts in ombre shades of red and pink to create the foliage for the Whittle Tree Border. Little circles or other shapes can be used to add color and foliage for different times of year.

A Whittle Forest Squirrel was cut from kraft card stock. I used a marker to add a little detail on the tail and down it's back. The squirrel is holding a little heart and the "I'm Nuts about you" sentiment is added along the top of the card. 

I think you could recreate this scene for each of the four seasons simply by changing the colors and the foliage shapes. I love products that are versatile so I can get more use from them! Have a great day!
