WMSC#128 Vintage Christmas

Another busy weekend for me.  I've told you before my family is heavy into scouting.  My husband is scoutmaster for our church sponsored troop and this weekend is our annual Christmas party.   My favorite part of the party is the white elephant.    The presents are all silly things we picked up at the dollar store like whoopie cushions, coal, googlie eye glasses, candy and glow sticks.  It's always funny to see what will end up with who and what will be the most sought after prize.  I think it will be the two liter bottle of Mountain Dew.  We start with my husband opening his favorite snack - a bag of tootsie rolls.   The next person can take the Tootsie Rolls  or a new prize.  Lots of trading goes on!   I could watch them play for hours and some times that's exactly how long it takes!

I hope you have some quiet time this weekend to check out the new Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.  We are working our way through a series of sketches by the Mischief Makers (YAY!) and this week the sketch is from Kim Duran of Paper Loves Glue.  Kim has a style all her own - she has a way of mixing papers and patterns that is so eclectic - fun and trendy!  I'm always amazed at what she comes up with!  On top of all that she's a real sweetheart too!  I tried to channel Kim a bit with this one by mixing fun papers and giving a bit of a retro look to my card with the fuchsia and parrot green.  Nothing fancy to explain on this one - just simple stamping with a little fussy cutting on that sentiment tag in the center.
I hope you are getting in the mood as we get closer to Christmas and I wish you a little quiet time to play.  For me sitting down and making something is relaxing, and when it all comes together it is as rewarding as fitting that last piece into a puzzle.
Hugs and Happy Holidays!
Jeanne

Paper Sweeties December Release Day 3

It's day 3 of the Paper Sweeties December Release preview.  The stamps are officially in the store today!  So you can see them all  here.  The design team is showing off previews of the stamps with examples of beautiful creations you can make with them throughout the week.   Today I used a set called Christmas is in the Heart. It features three heartfelt sentiments that will dress up any creation!
I stamped the sentiment in brown on kraft paper.  I trimmed up two edges with some gingham washi and then used a corner chomper to make it look like a ticket.  Last I added some pretty flowers, glittered chipboard and some gold fabric that I just fan folded for an accent.  I wanted to show you that these stamps can be used fun and casual or all decked out fancy and elegant.
I hope you will stop by the rest of the design team blogs and see what they came up with for today!  Just click on thier name to hop to their blog!

Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow for more previews!

Paper Sweeties December Release Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Paper Sweeties December release!  Debbie, the owner and creator of Paper Sweeties, has come up with some adorable new accessories to add to your Paper Sweeties collection!  Think all sorts of winter goodness including - yes!  a sled!  How cool is that?    The Paper Sweeties design team will be featuring all the new stamps in designs through December 16.  The new sets will be available in the Paper Sweeties Shoppe on December 15.
There are lots of  sentiments in the set that would be perfect all by themselves.  I couldn't resist the "Snowflakes are Winter's Butterflies" to use on my snowy layout.

The new stamps are perfect for adding to your collection - they are well coordinated and work perfectly together.  I used one of the new sets here - its called "Let it Snow"   It features the jacket, hat, and boots Sophie is wearing in my layout.  It even includes skating blades that you can stamp on the bottom of the boots - and some really cute sentiments.

I hope you will jump on over to the other design team member blogs and see some of their fabulous creations for the new release preview!  Just click on thier names below to jump to their blog.
Thanks for stoping by!  Have a great day!  See you tomorrow for the release and more peeks!
