Simple Stories Boho Christmas

The weather is getting colder and in my little part of the world there was snow in the air this week!!! That means the holidays are just around the corner! And that It’s time to get a jump on your Holiday Cards! Simple Stories has several holiday collections to choose from including this one called Boho Christmas!

Boho Christmas is an eclectic mix of traditional and modern contemporary styles in shades of reds and greens. You’ll find plaids mixed with funky florals and, lots of bold graphic sentiments.

I’m smitten with the sweet Santas, bottlebrush trees, and pom pom garlands that have me smiling big.

I used Journaling Bits and Pieces and the 12” Journaling Elements sheet included in the Collection Kit to create focal points for my designs. The solid die cut pieces break up the pattern paper backgrounds.

There’s loads of embellishments available in this collection including chipboard, layered chipboard, printed die cut bits and pieces, stickers, washi, decorative brads, enamel dots and more!

I add baby powder to the back of the sticky images to make them easier to manage. This allows me to play with their placement before committing and adhering them in place with liquid adhesive.

I like adding washi tape over seams where papers meet to add a whimsical touch to my designs. The tape is also a great place to add a sticker strip sentiment to make it stand out.

Party Animals

Today I'm playing along at Crafty Animals where they're always looking for animals added to your crafty designs. Check out these party animals from the Pretty Pink Posh.

I had lots of fun inking up these cute critters from the ANIMAL SIGNS stamp set. I use a piece of clear plastic the size of my card front to arrange them on. When I'm happy with the layout it's easy to pick up the entire panel and layer it over deferent color backgrounds.

The Birthday Signs stamp set comes with all the images you see on my design EXCEPT for the balloons. They're from the Birthday Sentiments set. Each of the images (presents, cake, tiger, alligator) has a space to add a sentiment. I added mine to the sign the alligator is holding.

The sign that the tiger is holding is hidden by the stacks of boxes I placed in front of it. I love all the bright colors! The background is a rainbow of Distress Oxide blended inks.

I hope you find some time to make today. It's a great way to relieve a little stress of every day life.

Colorful Fall Leaves

Happy Monday... oh gosh did I really just say that? I know.. Monday's are hard especially following a weekend! We raked leaves yesterday so I'm glad for a more "restful" sort of day! Today I'm playing along at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where they're looking for Thanks/Thanksgiving.

This card is 100% Waffle Flower! It starts with a Hexagon Texture Background that I topped with colorful "labels" from the Dotted Labels die set. They coordinate with a stamp set, but I thought the dotted tags were so pretty all on their own.

Next I stenciled colorful leaves with the Multiple Fall Leaves Stencil. It was easy to blend the colors with a mini brush. I did one sheet of each color and then cut them with the coordinating die set so I had lots of colors to choose from.

The leaf dies cut all of the leaves at one time and leave a stitched pattern on them. You can also use the die set or stencil set with the coordinating Multiple Leaf stamp set.

A simple Thank You die was double cut with gold and white cardstock to add a bit of sparkle and a few colorful enamel dots are the icing on top!
