Arista Floral

I hope you're having a good day! I love flowers! When it's too cold outside to enjoy the garden, I'm happy to be making with them in my craft rooms so the new release from Birch Press Design makes me HAPPY!

I like to cut lots of flowers in several different shades of cardstock all at the same time. When it comes time to making I have my choice of flowers to arrange. I lay them out on a clear piece of plastic the size of my card front before I commit and adhere them in place.

Because the plastic is clear I can pick up the entire arrangement and layer it over different backgrounds. For this card I used Viola Plate Layer A. Using just one layer of the three layer background set allows more color and gives a lacy look to the background.
To create a focal point I added an Arista Layer B die cut with a darker shade of pink adhered underneath. The foliage is adhered flat to the card base, and the florals are adhered with adhesive foam tape. This adds dimension.

Remember when you're making that there's no right or wrong.. it's all about what appeals to you. I hope you'll mix and match your different sets and imagine your flowers in unexpected colors. I think you'll be delighted with the results!

Hello Friend!

Well hello friends! I hope your day is bright and beautiful. Unfortunately for me it's a gloomy spring day here in the Midwest. April showers and all that. I decided to focus on the positive.. the rainbow after the showers are gone and the sun comes out.

My card starts with the Sunburst Foil Plate from Waffle Flower. I used some sticky notes to section off each of the stripes and then colored them with a small cosmetic brush and Distress Ink. It took some time.. not as long as coloring. I counted the stripes for the first color (let's say pink) and that made it easy to add the next color (darker pink) all at the same time using the same brush and sticky paper.

The center of the starburst was a mess.. where all the colors met together. To cover that up I added a Slim Shaker Circle die cut.

He Hello Friend sentiment is from a three piece set called Hey There Foil. I trimmed it with a paper center and adhered it across the center of the circle.

Some white enamel dots are the finishing touch. I'm so happy with how it turned out!

I'm linking this card up at Inspiration Station where the theme is April Showers. I hope you find some time to play!

A Dino-Mite Day

Hi friends! Surprise! Nope this isn't a new set! It's an old favorite that I'm revisiting today! While techniques and trends have changed these cute images remain frozen in time ready to be reimagined.
I'm playing along at Dare2BArtzy where they're looking for cards for kids!
My card features the No Tomorrow stamp set. I've colored the images with Copic Markers and layered them on a Distress Oxide Ink background panel.

My cards always start with the images arranged on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card front. This helps me decide what to place where. I always stamp extra "accessory" images like the greenery so I can add more detail to a scene.
I added silly eyes to the dinosaurs and some Glossy Accents to the spots on the dinosaurs. The little details bring them to life. A little Swirlie makes a primordial sunshine.
This one's perfect for the dinosaur lover in your life!  I'm laughing here because my kids think I'm ancient!   Have a great day!
