Deer Winter Greetings

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! Boy is it COLD outside! I'm staying INSIDE as much as I can. I love looking out the window and seeing the deer outside and of course like most of my neighbors, I put out some food for them this time of year.

Today I've got a winter scene in pretty pink! I started with a watercolor panel that I painted with Lindy's Magical Powders. If you haven't tried these I totally recommend them. All you do is spritz some paper and then shake some of the pigment powder over them and they bloom into beautiful colors. They even have shimmer ones that add a glittery effect to your design. Next I cut the Oval Forest View die from white cardstock and layered it over the water colored panel. I trimmed the edges and then adhered the assembled oval to a panel of hot pink cardstock.

The finishing touch was to add the cute little deer from the Winter Pals set, and a simple greeting that I cut with a 1/4" sentiment strip.

Fluttering By To Say Hello

Wow this week is just flying by! LOL! Today I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches where this is the sketch this week...

I love that fall leaf but I'm not ready to give up on the warm weather yet so I substituted it with BUTTERFLY!

I started with a watercolor rainbow background - I used my Distress Ink refills for the colors so they're nice and BRIGHT!

Next I die cut the butterfly shaker element and stamped the sentiment before running the panel through my die cut machine to add the 'X' texture to the design.

To make the layers even more tasty I added a stitched die cut background under the shaker. It was hard to photograph the white on white, but if you look close it's there!

This one is really clean and simple, but has all the little extras I love in a layered card.

Waffle Flower Challenge Watercolored Florals

I LOVE Waffle Flower!! From their cute images and layered dies to cover plates, alphabets and presnipped dies you'll find something YOU LOVE too! I'm happy to announce a new Waffle Flower NEW Weekly Challenge! You need to check this out!

I'm the host of this weeks challenge - Watercolored Florals! We want you to use your favorite Waffle Flower floral image and ADD some watercolor!

There's lots of way to add water.. you can do a simple wash like I did over a clean clear embossed image, or add a watercolor background. How about giving stampless watercoloring a try? Or you can even watercolor the flowers themselves! Whatever you choose I hope you'll give the challenge a try.

I embossed the Crocus floral image on a piece of watercolor paper. I used Peerless watercolor to add color to my design.

When the image was dry I die cut it using the Deckled Frames. I also die cut a "Hello" sentiment from the panel with the word die from the Message Boards set. You can't go wrong with a pop of gold.

Momenta Intricate Flowers and Butterflies Die GIVEAWAY!

My card starts with a simple watercolor background. I used Distress Ink Refills and a water brush for bright bold colors and easy blending.

Momenta Thanks A Bunch Mason Jar

Thanks so much for stopping by! Today I'm playing with the Momenta Thanks A Bunch Die. This die is so pretty! A mason jar filled with a bouquet of florals, and there's even a message written on the jar! 

I cut the die from watercolor paper and painted it with watercolors. When it was dry I layered it over a second die cut from white card stock. I added a few white inlay pieces to help define the different florals and give the die cut a cleaner look. 

The assembled die cut is adhered to a panel that was inked with distress ink, and then inked again in a darker shade using the Momenta Chevron Adhesive Stencil. I love that the stencil has a repositionable sticky coating so the stencil stays in place and the inking is always clean.
