Pretty Petunias

I had some time to play today and felt like doing some coloring! I found this challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. 

As soon as I saw the colors I thought of raspberry flowers with olive leaves on a mist sky background! If you love to color, the clean line drawn flowers from Pretty Pink Posh are just for you. There are several to choose from - fuchsias, cherry blossoms, wild rose, and the ones I used today... petunias. 

First I colored the Pretty Pink Posh Petunias with Copic Markers. I arranged them around a Scallop Oval die cut. 

The blue background was created with distress ink in Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean. The sentiment is from the Encouraging Greetings sentiment stamp set. 

The Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins are my favorite ! They're so sparkly and match everything. They come in lots of different sizes and remind me of dew drops when added to floral images.

Simple Stories - Hometown USA Collection

Memorial Day is just around the corner and for me that signals the beginning of Summer. The kids are almost out of school, people are opening their pools, and the smell of BBQ is in the air! 

Today I’m sharing some patriotic cards made with the Simple Stories Hometown USA Collection Kit. These will make great invites for the big celebration! We usually have a house full over for a BBQ and to watch the fireworks after it gets dark. 

The paper packs are a great value because they include everything you need to make several layouts and greeting cards. On the reverse side of the paper prints you’ll find journaling cards that make a great focal point for a greeting card. 

A sheet of stickers make easy embellishments. I use baby powder to dull the sticky adhesive back and add adhesive foam tape to pop up the stickers to add dimension to projects. The sticker sheet also includes several sentiments.

The best part of all is that the papers are meant to work together. The colors match perfectly and there’s no guessing what paper matches another paper.

The Card Concept - Floral Centerpiece

Is your week off to a good start? We spent the weekend getting the garden cleared and tilled. There was no time to start planting because it was dark when we got done and today it's raining. That's ok. That means a little time for me to play a challenge or two today! I thought I'd play along with this pretty photo challenge at The Card Concept. 

I started by arranging florals from Reverse Confetti BUILD A BUNCH on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card front. This makes it easy to move the whole arrangement and lay it on different color backgrounds. 

I didn't have a vase die, but I couldn't let that slow me down.  Necessity is the Mother of invention right?   I took the ruffled die from the BASKET Cut and layered it over a die cut DONUT YOU KNOW Circle. The pedestal base was created with the GLOBE Confetti Cut. 

I stamped the florals with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copic Markers. They're adhered with adhesive foam tape so the card has some dimension. The "Just for You" sentiment is from the BEAR HUGS stamp set.
