SSCB#47 Backgrounds - Autumn Wonderful World

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  I hope you are having a beautiful day!  Fall is in the air!  I picked quite a few small pumpkins from in front of the house this week.  Yes you read that right.  I planted the seeds in the back, but my little helpers (trying to be kind here) must have dug them up and replanted them in front of the house.  When I saw them growing in between the Blue Spruce Pines in the front I decided to just leave them there.  I'm learning to embrace the things I can't change! LOL!  I wonder what the neighbors thought!  

We're in the second half of our Backgrounds Challenge at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog!  You have two more weeks to play and we hope you will join us.  All you need to do is create a project with some background stamping - and be sure to use at least one Serendipity Stamps Image - stamp or die.   You could win a $20 gift certificate! 

I created this effect with a mask.  You can use special masking paper, but I used a piece of scrap paper with a die cut circle large enough for the sentiment.  Next I held it in place on my card stock and blended  Tumbled Glass distress ink into the open window.   Next I cut the same size circle from a piece of post it paper that has adhesive across the entire square.  I struck the circle over my distressed circle and stamped the leaves randomly.  I removed the circle post it mask and stamped the image inside.

I like a little extra dimension so I attached this stamped panel with some sticky adhesive foam sheet.

Pretty Little Studio Birthday Hugs!

Do you ever feel a little stuck when you’re creating – needing a little inspiration? The Pretty Little Studio Design Team brings you Pinterest Inspired projects once a week. Here’s the photo I got to work with. Isn’t it beautiful? I was immediately struck by all those little tassels against the cream background. The rainbow of colors inspired me to create a birthday themed card with lots of colors and a banner of course!   I went straight for the brightest paper collection available from Pretty Little Studio. It’s called “Birthday Cake”. Have you seen this set? If the colors don’t get you going, maybe the names of them will!! LOL!! I started with a clean “Short Cake” graph paper background, and added a panel of “Coconut Creme” scallops. Are you getting hungry yet? 

The Michelle Mini Die Cut makes the perfect focal point for our birthday card. I used “Spice Cake” confetti paper as a background for the die cut. It just looks like a party doesn’t it?

To make it a little more feminine for a birthday girl I added a gold banner and pretty bow topped with some paper roses. I hot glue the roses so they stay set with no chance of them coming loose.

I stamped “hugs” on a Forever Note Flag Strip – these are already die cut and come in lots of great colors perfect to match any collection you choose.

Too Cute To Spook!!

The kids are back in school and fall is just around the corner.  I think you’re going to need some Halloween dies and fast!    This is one of my favorite holidays – I love a bit of mischief! 

I can never resist helping out school.  It seems like something is always going on and they are always looking for volunteers.  I like to help out  making things for the bake sale or for the class  Halloween Party.  It’s fun seeing the kids dressed up and just bubbling with excitement.

I wanted to show you how the different Halloween die sets work well together today.  The sizes of the elements in the different sets make them easy to mix and match.  I used elements primarily from the Pocket Page Halloween Set and added accents from other sets to complete a scene.  The buckle on the little kitty’s hat comes from the “Wicked Witch” set ,   and  the crescent moon is from the Haunted House Set.

I also added some “basic” shapes to add layers and more dimension – like the Antique Matt and Circles die set.    The clouds are from the Rainbow die set.   They all fit together perfectly!
