The 12 Kits of Occasions - Very Merry

It's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all receive the same kit with the same items. On the last day of the month we reveal what we each made with the kit. It's fun to see how we used the product in different ways. Sometimes the projects are similar and sometimes they are very different.

This month it's all about CHRISTMAS! Our hostess with the mostest is Lindsey Larson from Occasional Crafting blog! And boy what a wonderful kit she put together for us! We've got stamped images and die cuts from Concord & 9th, Neat and Tangled and Papertrey Ink. The papers and die cuts included lots of shiny metallics.

No tricks here... only treats. I ran out of papers - because lets face it.. I'm a stacker... so I added some of my own from Crate Paper (Snow and Cocoa). I made 7 cards!

Tag You're It - Flamingo Pool Party

Here in the Midwest it's the dog days of summer. Dang it's just HOT here! There's no better cure than a splash. It doesn't matter if its a swimming pool or a sprinkler!

I got to pick the challenge photo this time at Tag You're it. I decided a pool party was in order. I love seeing the huge floaties the have now days - big flamingos and unicorns. If only I had a pool! Maybe I could convince DH what an awesome lawn decoration they would make? Or maybe if I used it as a cooler and filled it with his favorite beverage? 

If you're having a pool party why not make some treat bags to go. My dream bag would have a squirt gun, some balloons (to fill with water of course), tubes of flavor to pour in my water bottle, and some CANDY too! 

My tag starts with the Doily Tag from Neat & Tangled. I cut it from a piece of card stock that I inked with distress ink in yellow and blue.

I stamped the water image from the Neat & Tangled Flamingo Floatie set on the tag and then stamped, colored and cut the girl on the floatie. She's attached with some adhesive foam tape to add dimension.

She's splashing water at you - because that's what you do when you're playing in the water right? I added some jewels from Pretty Pink Posh and a simple sentiment strip. I layered the tag over another panel that was inked with ombre pink distress ink.

It's Friday! Finally! It seems like it's been a long time coming here for me! There's so much I want to get done this weekend! Since tomorrow is December 1 I'll be putting up the Christmas tree if I'm ambitious.. at the very least I hope I'll get some cards written and sent out. There's so many people I want to let know I'm thinking of them!

Like most of you I make my own cards. I love that I can make lots of different ones so there is something for everybody. I've got cards some traditional cards made, but I like to surprise people with something unexpected too.

This fun Get Yeti set from Neat and Tangled is too cute! It's great for all of the young and young at heart! I love the little dog that reminds me of Max from The Grinch, and the Yeti who makes me think of the Abominable from Rudolph. Ahh the classics! LOL! Is my age showing again? 

I created a soft pink background with distress ink and topped it with die cut borders from Lawn Fawn. The scrap piece left behind from the two borders I inked with Tumbled Glass to make a snow drift. 

The images were all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic Markers. The sun is two die cut yellow circles stacked on top of each other.

TupeloDesignsLLC - Blessed Autumn

Happy Friday my crafty friends! I hope you're able to spend some time outdoors this weekend. The seasons are changing fast and if you're not looking autumn will pass you by. I've noticed a big change in my area (Northwest Indiana).. birds are migrating and oh.. the fall leaves are gorgeous! 

Today I'm playing with the Neat & Tangled Maple Leaf die and Oak Leaf stamp set from Tupelo Designs LLC. 

The die is a two piece set, an outline and a solid image. I put packing tape on the back of a piece of card stock and then cut the outline die. The packing tape prevents the die from cutting all the way through leaving an outline on your card stock. I colored the image with Copic Markers, and then cut the colored leaf with the solid maple die.

The background is pretty distress ink. I get a smooth clean look using the Clarity Stencil Brushes. They blend beautifully and there's no hard lines from daubers.
