Your Next Chapter Will Be The Best Yet!

Today I'm playing along at Cupcake Inspirations where it's Red White and Blue.
It's been a tough week here. With the weather quality so horrible from the Canada wildfires, I'm trying to spend more time indoors but I'm missing the sunshine and the garden!
Hobbies are always a good thing to occupy the mind. Reading is another great hobby and I love that I can mix a few of my favorite things in one place.

I started with the Pink and Main One For The Books stamp set. I inked the books and then layered them over the Fancy Oval With Bow that makes a gorgeous focal point!
The pretty papers are from the Sunrise Paper Pack. The finishing touch is a sprinkle of sparkly gems!
Thanks for stopping by and stay safe!

Round Stitched Bookmark

Today I've got something different to share! A stitched bookmark! I used to cross stitch all the time when I was younger. I confess that my eyes are just not as good as they used to be! I really wanted to try to make something with this die from Waffle Flower called the Stitchable Round Bookmark Die. I'm linking up to the Neglected Stuff Challenge because I have a box of cross stitch thread and honestly I can't even gander a guess at how old it is!
I followed the free pattern (keep reading for the link) but switched up the colors to use what I had on hand.
I selected the "You Are Loved" sentiment because you have to know you're loved if I spent the time it took stitching this for you LOL! Honestly it didn't take very long - probably about 3 hours, but still....
If you love this pattern, and want to try it yourself you can find it here FREE to download at Waffle Flower Crafts.
I added a plain pink Round Bookmark to cover the back side of the stitched piece and clean it up a bit. I got about 100 colorful tassels on Amazon for around $8 here.

Waffle Flower September Release Sneak Peek Day 3

Thanks for stopping by! It's Day 3 of sneak peeks of the newest Waffle Flower Crafts September Release! All the latest will be in the store tomorrow! We're calling this release Stenciled Stories because there are lots of images to create using just stencils!
Today we're focusing on the new Book Lover Stencil Set! It coordinates with the Round Bookmark Die that you might already have! I stamped the images first with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then stenciled the images with Distress Ink.
The images are very forgiving if you don't line things up perfectly. I added lots of colors with the detail brushes and used sticky notes to cover areas I didn't want exposed.
I found a big pack of 100 tassels on Amazon for around $10 and they included a rainbow of colors so I'm set for future projects.
I like to double cut the tags - adding a solid cardstock bookmark layered behind the detailed one. I think this adds stability to the bendable cardstock and adds more color.
I'm not an expert at stenciling and got these right on my first try. Waffle Flower tools have been a real game changer for me - especially the Grip Mat to hold my paper in place, and the assortment of detail brushes they offer.

Ready to see more makes with the new release? Just head on over to Instagram and search #StenciledStoriesWFC. I hope you'll stop by tomorrow when I'll have another peek of the new release!

Waffle Flower Release Day Instagram Giveaway Alert!

It's release day at Waffle Flower! I hope you've enjoyed seeing the peeks of the new release called Bookmarks.
Today I'm sharing two bookmarks made with the Round Bookmark Die that was inked with the Round Floral Bookmark.
The Round Floral Bookmark stamp set inks the outline that you can see in black, and then you color them with the coordinating stencil set.
The coordinating stencil set includes the patterns for BOTH of these florals.
I added sentiments to the designs, and added a solid cut bookmark to each to add more color.
Interested in some giveaways?
Head on over to my Instagram (click here) and look for the above photo. There is a $20 gift card giveaway on that post. Then search #BookmarksWFC to find other giveaways on Instagram.

Waffle Flower August Release Day 2

It's day two of sneak peeks of the Waffle Flower August Release called "Bookmarks". Today we're showing peeks of the Merry Bookmas Die N Stencil, Winter Cheer and set and Winter Floral set.
My card features the new Winter Floral. You can use the Floral coloring stencil alone or with the stamp and foil plates for added details. The die set provides the pierced holes so you can add stitching like I did using gold Waffle Flower embroidery thread.
Like the rest of our coloring stencils, the layers are easy to line up, and there is enough space among the openings so you can easily color each opening in different colors.

I used small detail brushes and sticky tape to mask different areas of the stencil so I could add lots of different colors without smearing them together.
The sentiment is from the Holiday Cheer stamp set. I used the coordinating die set so no fussy cutting was required.
Because the theme this month is bookmarks I thought I'd make a quick on with just a cutting from the completed stencil die.
I used the Round Bookmark Die to cut the stenciled panel and to add a red border along the top and bottom of the bookmark.
I hope you love these! I think the gold just takes these over the top!

Waffle Flower August Release Day 1

Thanks for stopping by! It's a great day for a visit because today is the first of three days of sneak peeks of the new Waffle Flower August Release! This release is called Bookmarks!
We have a whole collection of bookmark designs based on the Round Bookmark Die. Whether you are into florals or critters, we have something for you!
I made a trio of bookmarks using the Round Bookmark Die. I inked the die with the Round Critter Bookmark Stamp Set, and then inked it with the coordinating stencil set. You can see some of the sentiments that fit into the empty book spaces above.
The stamp set includes three different critters that are also inked with a stencil. I fussy cut the critters and then adhered them at the top of the bookmark.
I double cut the tags with glitter cardstock because every project needs a little magic sparkle right? I found the tassels on Amazon in a rainbow pack of 100 that was very affordable at $7.95.

I hope you'll stop by tomorrow when we'll be sharing more peeks of the new release!
