Simple Stories Holly Days Collection

Do you love the Ho Ho Holly Days? It’s that magic time of year when the heart gets sentimental. There’s just no place like home, comfy cozy, celebrating with family and friends.

This collection features traditional red and green a fresh twist! Pink, lime and aqua give this collection an updated, fun look.

The collection includes all the extras you’ve come to expect from Simple Stories – 12” and 6x8” papers, chipboard, stickers, printed die cut bits and pieces, and loads of embellishments like decorative brads, washi and enamel dots.

My eight cards today are made with the 12” collection kit. I really love the Journal Elements sheet included in the kit. They’re perfect foundations for adding layers on your cards. I arrange elements on top to create scenes and collages.

I like to break up the patterns with solids and Color Vibe cardstock is always my go to. Color vibe are heavyweight cardstock with a solid on one side and a dot print on the other. Color Vibe comes in lots of colors so you’ll find the perfect match for EVERY collection. The sheets always make great card bases.

Once my scenes are laid out I love adding embellishments. Decorative brads and enamel dots are like eye candy. Washi is great for adding color and defining layers – I always add washi where one print is layered over another. Sticker sentiments are perfect just about anywhere on your design.

I like to keep similar elements together to create scenes. The card below is a great example – the fireplace, Santa, tree and presents are sized perfectly to be placed together. Dotted paper becomes carpeting and a floral print makes fine wallpaper.

This collection just makes me smile. I love the sweet woodland critters, happy Santas and fun colors! And if I can pass along a smile through the mail then my mission is accomplished!

My Creative Scrapbook November 2021 Main Kit

Autumn Greetings

Happy Friday! I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend. I'm excited because my new refrigerator should be arriving tomorrow. The old one was older than my oldest child.. gulp! So it was time. I like to think I'm a foodie and WOW! Things have changed since my old girl was created! Not sure why I need wi-fi for the refrigerator.. maybe you can give me some ideas?

Today I'm playing along at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where they're asking you to create your own background. That's easy as can be when you use your die cuts or stencils. My background is created with layers of stitched stripes using the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 3. I added some Scallop Frames and now for the fun part.. adding a scene!!!

I added some Cozy Fall Critters that were colored with Copic Markers and tucked them around some gorgeous pumpkin Fall Corners.

A simple sentiment from the Woodland Thanks stamp set and a sprinkle of Raspberry jewels and I'm satisfied! This one is finished! :P
