OWH Water Challenge July 27 - Gone Fishin'

When I read water challenge I began thinking pool party, beach vacation, and water balloons. Then I went to my guys and said water - and they said - you guessed it .... FISHING!   Which I guess is a good thing because I said I was going to try to focus more on hobbies for my OWH cards.  I know fishing is a big deal in my family, maybe it is in yours too.  I have lots of good memories just sitting and talking while patiently waiting for a nibble on that line.
Scouting is also a big deal in my family - what a great experience to see a scout catch their first fish!  Speaking of scouting - I am having a busy weekend here.  Our troop is hosting a group of scouts who are on a high adventure trip riding their bikes from Illinois to Niagara Falls.  I volunteered to cook for them and will be making lots of mostacolli and sausage to get them loaded with carbs before they get back on the road.  I am so proud of our scouts who are constantly challenging themselves to stay morally straight, physically fit and mentally strong.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog - I hope you all have a great weekend!

Love hearing about your Scouting activities. Fishing was a big deal in my family, too, as my dad was an avid fisherman. Some of my warmest memories of him are times in childhood when he'd wake me early in the morning and take me fishing. It was great father-daughter time and I still think fondly of it. Love the hook embellishment! Perfect for this card. Great idea to focus on hobbies for OWH cards. I think I'll try some of those myself. Thanks for the inspiration!

Perfect card for a water theme! I find it so challenging to create masculine cards but you surely have given me inspiration! Love the baker's twine and fish hook embellishment! Sounds like you had a lot of great times fishing :)
