Waltzingmouse USA 1776

Well have you seen the latest Waltzingmouse release?  I'm totally loving them both - USA 1776 and Country Labels 4.   These sets are both so versatile and as with all Waltzingmouse stamps work beautifully together.   All through the month of June on Tuesdays and Thursdays Waltzingmouse Design Team members will be showing you projects made with these sets.  Today I'm featuring a few projects made with the USA 1776 set.  If you got here from Renee's blog you're in the right place.  If you want to start from the beginning the complete list is on Claire's blog.

The 4th of July is a big to do here in Northwest Indiana!  Just like most of my neighbors we will be having a cook out and waiting for it to get dark to see the night sky light up.  Usually there is so much going on it is hard to know what direction to look in, and the whole block will be a rolling cloud of smoke !!!!  I guess you'd have to see it to believe it!

I'm a big believer in the saying "we eat with our eyes first" so I always like to make sure to take care of the little details when we have a party.  Here are just a few easy to make projects to dress up our 4th of July shindig.

These cupcake toppers were really easy to make with just a few stamps and a die cut.  To make it even quicker you can use a jumbo punch and have these put together in no time.   Two small holes punched out make inserting a shiny foil skewer easy.

These pretzels were fun and easy too.   Just dip a pretzel in almond bark and sprinkle with some colorful toppings.  Lay them on parchment paper until the chocolate sets and then pack them in cellophane bags.   A simple bow and a bitty tag and your done.

Last I made some little treat bags for friends to take home.  I got a great deal on the striped bags (around 3 cents each) but  I had to buy in quantity.  I decided on red so I can use them all year round (Valentines, Christmas, 4th of July - you get the idea), they are also great for slipping a few cookies into a lunch bag.   They were easy to stamp and dress up. The part that took the longest was cutting out the fancy doilies and picking out all the little die cut holes - to speed up the process just use store bought paper doilies.
I hope you have a memorable 4th of July celebration surrounded by good friends, and good food!!   To continue on with the blog hop your next stop is Chupa at Random Acts of Creativity!

  1. Yum! You are making me so hungry with all your sweet treats decked out for the 4th! I love those cupcake toppers...cute idea to use the skewers and pre-punched holes. I would have poked them through and made quite the mess. I also love the idea for the year round treat bags...smart to get red and how pretty with the doilies and sparkly clothespin. You really did such a great job...everyone is going to want this stamp set!
